Alright.. all you with ATI prochargers. How the heck did you manage to put your SC in when the instruction manual sucks SO much. I've got an 89 T/A 305 TPI, stock power steering cooler, ground effects, auto tranny. Okay so I've tried several different steps, all with the same results. "it's not fitting." So I've managed to mount the intercooler down under the nose. Had to bend the heck out of the mounting brackets to make them fit right.. Now the tubing that goes up the drivers side doesn't quite fit. I had to take off the fender ground effects to get the pipe in a semi-suitable position but it still doesn't fit in there to my liking. I read the part that says "relocate the cruise diaphram to the rear of the shock tower". Um.. How exactly do you do that when the master cylinder is right there and the only spot that is left is the place where you mount the FMU? This is retarded.. If anyone's got better instructions or hints, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.

not too sure if I can help w/ the intercooler tubing, but I have the FMU mounted to the rear of the strut tower and the cruise diaphram is in front of the strut tower. If your using a strut brace this will not work.
I know there is some differences between the camaro and the firebird, but once you have the blower unit and piping all fitted in, mount the cruise control where ever it will fit. I too know from first hand experience that the instruction are NOT worth the paper that they are written on!
Which unit did you purchase P600, P1, D1, etc..?
Also when i routed my intercooler piping i had to bend the lower lip on my fender(right by the support bracket) for clearance on both sides, and it is still a very tight fit.
If you go to my webpage i have many pics of my install. If there is something that you need to see from a different angle or whatever let me know, and i'll grab my camera and try to help you out.
Hey Larry. Thanks for the reply. Sorry, I forgot to mention that it's a P600. Yeah.. I'm wondering how to fit the piping into the fender wells and still fit the support pieces on the bottom of the fender. Right now, I've got the pipe in there but all the support pieces won't go in. I'll just have to play with it some more. Thanks and I'll let you know if I need anything else.
Holy cow, you've got a real nice install there.. I'll hopefully have some shots of my car once everything is in there (that is IF I can get everything in there). Wish me luck!

I installed my old kit on Chitowns car and i put the FMU in the back corner behind the driver side shock tower and then i relocated the cruise to almost right in front of it....i had to play with it a little to find a sweet spot so that it would fit and still function, i never tried it out but it should work?
does it Chitown?
oh and the intercooler routing was a PITA on the GTA. My IROC was much easier
i had to take a few of the bumper supports out to get the tubes through.
i actually had to cut some of the ground effects underneath the car to get the big 3 core to fit right
i had to move the big ball canister dealy thing over to get the other tube in, man was it a nightmare
It sounds like 89prochargedROC answered your question, you can also try bending the support rods alittle and shimming them out where they mount to the car frame.
D3kennedy,
ATI offered the 12-rib pulleys(4.00") with D1sc kit at first, it is a extremely tight fit at the radiator neck. When ATI finally performed the install themselves, they decided it was to much of a PITA with trying to get everything to fit properly. This was after Darren, Willie and myself already had our kits installed. Ati still offers the 12-rib pulley in 3.70" and smaller.
well this makes me feel a lot better. I've been struggling to get the piping around the fender of my TA and finally cut a little and bent a little for it to work (since it looked like bending only wouldn't cut it heh) right. I was wondering if on the Camaro it clears better than the Firebird?
I had to notch the bottom of the fenders to and I also cut about a 1 1/2" to 3" off the top of those two pipes to make everything fit just right for me.

How about the battery? I already have it on the passenger side from my old Paxton supercharger, but I dont see how that pipe is going to run past/over it and still get down into the fender. Did you relocate to the rear or anything? And I'm probably getting O/T but is there a good page where the info on 749 code on 730s is laid out?
The battery I left in the stock location, this part took some customization on my part with a 7/8" piece of plywood and a battery tray with hold down clamp that I got from the auto store.
Nice. Well its good to see I'm not the only one who has scratched their tubing up trying to make this work. Now if I could just get a WBO2 in the mix I can actually tune this thing.
