Ebay users selling junk turbos

Looking for turbos on ebay?

Avoid:
Code:
www.ssautochrome.com,xs_power,xs-power,dwalker243,bounsale,turbocreations,speedindex,dsmturbo16,turboking123,autopowerenterprise,unique_just,cars4large,powerboost29,aero_domination,jdmcarrier,stbracing,autosquare,autodynasty,advan_racing,salepost,jdmmotorz,sakuralndustry,driftperformance,just-intercoolers,etdmotors,samphu0606,mi_motor,craymotorsport,erinlane86,dynamictrends
(and many, many more.)

I originally started making a list so I could add them to the 'exclude' list in the advanced search options, but there's so many now I can't fit them all in. Copy and paste as much as you can though, and you'll see a good portion of the crap disappear from your search results.

Re: Ebay users selling junk turbos

Hey there buddy, how many of these turbos have you actually run?
The few that I did sell on ebay I had no problems with or from the guys that bought them.
Yep they are cheaper and when pushed to the limit they wont last as long because of cheaper materials but if used reasonably they dont do to bad.
Point is that people have the choice of buying a cheapy over a brand. They will both boost engine performance but one will do it for less than 1/2 the price of the brand name turbo.
Point is I resent that you have listed my part time business as selling crap. I sell on occasion some my geniune spares and odds and ends as well so Im telling you to remove my name from this thread.
You wouldnt want to wake up one morning and do a search on yourself and find people slandering your name on the net.

You are so right.

BTW, The prices of China turbos has quickly risen to the point where a perfectly good used brand name turbo is cheaper than a new China turbo.
ClintJ, Why have the prices risen so quickly? Is it China charging more or the retailer (ebay sellers) charging more?
Since you have access to all the China turbos, could you measure all the comp. and exhaust wheels here at TGO so we can once and for all see what a "China T70", "China GT66", etc really is?

Re: Ebay users selling junk turbos

junk thats almost useless u know the old gt66 compressor housings, now they are using those same covers on most of the turbos. ranging from 52-to 69mm

atleast when they werent all using the same cover they were easy to tell apart

turbos seem the same price as they have always been, i did notice the larger ones 61mm and up have gone up slightly
but all the 55mm and down ones are stillt he same hell the t043 57 trims ( really 48) have goten cheaper

Re: Ebay users selling junk turbos

Good to know that. I am surprised that they use the same comp. housing. Is the A/R the same or just the appearance? I know there are different factories making the black tag, blue tag, embossed tag housings and complete turbos.

The bigger turbos are close to $400 shipped now. That price has risen. The T4/T3 hybrid 46 trim units have fallen in price........and seem to be a great deal for a twin setup on V6 and V8 engines. That is the 57 trim unit?

Re: Ebay users selling junk turbos

well the ar varys cause of the different sized compressor wheels

yeah all the 61mm and up turbos have gone up with the exception of the gt45 unit which is an exact copt of a master power gt42

i think the price is going up cause as u can see they are starting to offer more choices on the hotsides. it used to be all the larger turbos had massive hotsides 1.xx

now u can get then in sizes ranging from t3.48 all the way to t4 1.15

yeah the ones advertises as 57 trims are 48 trim and will make about around 425-450 each

Re: Ebay users selling junk turbos

All the new turbines are starting to create more confusion also. Check this AD for a GT45 with a .64 A/R turbine. That should be and looks like a standard GT42 1.05 A/R turbine. Imagine how angry the buyer will be when the unit shows up with an A/R twice as big as what the wanted/bought.

Re: Ebay users selling junk turbos

yup that is a standard 1.05, that is the only turbine that turbo comes with

i still want one of those turbos, those turbos used to be a small shaft turbo, now they are large shaft, except i would pay the other guy the extra 10 bucks and get the downpipe vband flange and clamp

Re: Ebay users selling junk turbos

Once I get my single setup finished during the winter I should have it so one of those 1.05 A/R units should fit. I have been keeping my eye out for one, but I only budgeted $200 for one so I probably will never end up owning one.

I wonder if they went big shaft because of Master Power having a problem with broken shafts on some units a few years ago. A fair amount of web forums were reporting Master Power bearing and shaft problems. Maybe Master Power went big shaft and China copied it?

Re: Ebay users selling junk turbos

Wow, this thread is going strong

Who's buying china turbos anymore with quality turbos like the masterpower T70 or borgwarner S400 in the $600 range, new? If you're really on a budget than get a quality used turbo.

I got an S400 a while ago, and since then I've spent so much on everything else the price of the turbo itself is kinda moot..
