I've been debating going with a twin in tank pump setup. I picked up a LS1 tank I was going to try and use but I'm not thrilled about he fuel line size. I'm targeting ~800-900hp when my setup is all together. I see the stock fuel lines being a bottle neck coming out of the tank. I'm running 10AN from tank and 8AN return. I think the lines coming out of the tank is only 6AN so what's the point of running twin intank pumps?
As an alternative I was thinking of running a Walbro 340 intank and welding in a sump into the stock tank that I could use to plumb an external pump which would switch on around 5lbs boost. The intank would provide good reliability without too much noise and the external would just kick in under boost. This should allow me to run larger fuel line coming from the pumps to leverage their full potential.
I really liked the twin intank concept but I don't know how beneficial it is pushing through the stock tank fittings.
Any thoughts, comments, or alternatives for street/strip duty?

I am in the same boat. I was tossing around the idea of the dual intank as well. I ended up getting a Walbro GCA758-2 255LPH High output pump for 85-92 GM. Hope it works for me too . I plan on a fair bit less hp ( 650 hp when said and done) I am no at a point of trying how to manage it all ....Mega squirt , 749 ECM , FMU . What are you going to use ?
I picked up an XFI w/ 83lb injectors I plan on using. The dual intank may work out nice for the HP range you are shooting for. You might find you are able to get away with still using the stock lines.
