can you guys recommend a brand/part # for an 8-rib belt for my p1sc?
i have the standard 66" belt, but will be using a smaller 4" pulley, so i think i need something a bit smaller, like 65"?
do the goodyear belts come in multiple sizes like that?
thanks.
Head to NAPA and use a Gates Brothers belt. I had far less slippage issues with Gates than the Goodyear belt.

Dayco poly-cog or goodyear gatorback belts actually have tread like ribs to grab the pulley. If gates has a treaded style serpentine, then by all means get that.
like my first post said, it's for an 8 rib setup, and yes 4 inches is the diameter of the blower pulley, what else would it be?
ati prints the size right on the pulley, that's how you determine the boost level.
Id do as suggested above and go to a gatess distributor... What I did was using fishing line I roughed out how long of a belt I would need.... then I sent GATES technical service an e-mail and told them I had an 8 rib serp belt that was roughly X inches long... then they gave me a part number..and even looked up the part and told me who in My area carried the belts... A day later I got a phone call from an engineer there who gave me a part number and told me that a napa 1 mile away had the belt in stock... Awesome customer service... they got it right on the first try..But they also listed options...As in IF I measured wrong Part Z is 1/2" longer and part X is 1/2" shorter...
well the 1/2" is a generic spec they use because on cars with automatic spring loaded belt tensioners...1/2" is the variance between good and bad on the gauge that tells you when to replace the belt... On my old blower setups I always had enough throw in the tensioner to make up for 1+" worth of slop..

god I reread and I dont know how stupid my question was. I think mine has 4.00 stamped right on it!
It should be close from the kit BUT when using a serpentine setup get a GOOD straightedge and make sure all the pullies are in perfect alignment... I know when I used aftermarket pullies on my vortech setup I had to do a little light shimming... But I never threw a belt..
wanted to add my 2 cents because I went through MUCH pain to get the belt lengths right after I downsized blower pulleys. FIRST. I splurged the 20-30 bux and bought a contracters T square. This is the 48" long T square that contracters cut / measure sheet rock with. This is VERY handy to check pulley alignment....or you can use a long arse level. Second. I order all my Goodyear gatorbacks from summit racing. They have all the sizes and are usually a couple bux cheaper than local stores...problem is shipping wait. I usually wait 2-3 days after my order to receive my parts and I only order when I have something else to buy. THIRD. I wish I could remember the way Goodyear codes there part numbers to match the rib count and length but it's similiar to Gates and Dayco...I think that's the name. You can do a search for 8 rib gatorbacks on summit and see all the different lengths and you'll figure the p/n naming scheme on your own. I hope some of this info makes sense and is useful.
