factory fuel pump with 150 shot going to be ok?

i have a couple of questions... i will list my setup first and then what i am planning to accomplish.

the motor is a basically stock 350 with a comp xe268 cam and gmpp heads holley street dominator intake and holley 650 double pumper carb. my fuel system is a factory electric intake pump and i have a mollory 3 port regulator on it going to the carb the factory pump puts out over 50 psi and im running right at 6psi with this carb. now i know this fuel system is common for people changing from fuel injection to carb and i think the mustang guys can run a similar if not the same setup.

well my question is simple, i am wanting to run the nitrous 150 horse power max. it is setup to go up to about 300-350 but i want no more than 150 for the time being. so what im wanting to do with the fuel side of the nitrous is open up one of the ports on the mallory pressure regulator and run it to my fuel solenoid for the spray plate. does anyone see this as a problem? i have heard of people running it like this with no problems but i would like opinions from the people who run nitrous all the time and see if i could get some good input on the matter.

thanks mike.

Re: factory fuel pump with 150 shot going to be ok?

our stock pumps barely handle a 150 shot(volume wise)i have done it for a long time i do suggest you spend the money and get a 255lph pump its like having good insurance 44 psi is not hard but having enough VOLUME is the problem.stock pump is rated at 87 lph..

at 87lph, that is less than what a stock TPI 350ci requires.

Are you sure that's right? That's only around 140LBS/hr. That mass of fuel would only support 311 FWHP assuming .45 BSFC.
