If you can give me till Wednesday I should have "completed" photos posted up. I'm going to be busting my *** all week to get it running. Going to try and get the blower mounted up today and get the ducting made so I can get it welded out and bead rolled. As far as the engine kit, I read that article when it was printed. Golen does good work from what I've seen, never used them though. I went with Victory Racing Engines and Advanced Induction. I was very impressed with the work Ai did.

Just ran into a MAJOR problem. Doesn't look like it's going to work at all like I originally envisioned it. Looks like I'm going to have to turn the discharge of the head unit down al la TPI style and run it under the balancer up to the passenger side. There isn't enough clearance between the blower pulley, belt, and radiator hose to run the ducting across to the driver's side like I wanted to. Going to concentrate on getting it running all motor now and if I have time before I head back to school again I'll mess around with the ducting some more.

Damn sorry to hear about that. Well def. get the car running so you can enjoy it some.

Yeah I was disappointed when I realized it, but by pulling all of the blower gear off and boxing it for now it just gives me more time to actually get it driveable. I'll definitely put the blower on once I have a house/garage this summer.

well, maybe we'll both be getting them installed around the same time then... haha, I hope I can get it all done this summer.

Made some serious headway with the wiring harness today. I decided to mount the PCM on the driver's side battery shelf where the charcoal canister was. The harness was *almost* long enough to reach without extending it, but I had to add about 12" to the part that goes to the passenger side of the intake. Still waiting on some new connectors to show up from EFI Connection. Once those show up I'll tape up and put the harness back in conduit to finish it up.

Also started on the exhaust. Got the Spin Tech muffler, tail pipe, and over-axle pipe hung. Didn't have enough room under the car to get the I-pipe installed so I'll jack it up higher tomorrow and do that. Hope to get the y-pipe finished up tomorrow too. That should be the last major things underneath the car.

Still need to pull the front rotors back off and install longer wheel studs. I forgot that I'd ground down the studs that are in there so that they didn't stick out past the wheel adapters. Whoops.

Looks like I should be able to fire it Thursday night at the earliest, probably Friday morning realistically. *cross fingers*

Not the updates I wanted to make, but such has been this project.

FINALLY got the wiring harness finished up. I was able to get the new tune loaded and check the sensors with my scantool software. Everything looks to be good so I'm fairly certain the wiring harness is mostly correct Still need to work on the routing a little bit to make it easier to get the valve covers off.

Speaking of which, I would not recommend these valve covers to anyone with an LT1. They are the Canton fabricated aluminum ones, and yeah they have tons of room for rockers, but they are such a pain. The biggest problem I ran into is I couldn't fit the stock alternator back on at all. The valve covers are supposed to be clearanced for the alternator, but it was hitting not only on the back where the rear bearing is, but also on the bottom of the case. The top bolt hole for the alternator was about 1" off. I was able to get a Caprice alternator that's a 105A instead of a 120 and it fits great due to being a smaller diameter and slightly shorter. I don't have any audio equipment or anything like that in the car so losing 15A isn't going to hurt.

The exhaust turned into a major pain in the butt. Finally got the y-pipe fitted up and finished, but when it got welded out it drew and the 4" pipe after the Y was contacting the driveshaft. Ended up having to do some pretty heavy modification to it to get it to fit again, but it should work fine now. I ran out of time and didn't get any photos of that.

Nevermind the craptastic Autozone air filter, it's just temporary until the blower goes back on. Even moreso now I wish I would have repainted the engine compartment But I hope to not have this body much longer. Really want to get a hardtop car and start from scratch and move everything over to it. We'll see.

Sorry to heat that. Sounds like bad news for me because I bought those canton valve covers too... From everything I have read on them some people get away by just shaving some of the alternator housing and others have to make some other modifications. Hopefully I get lucky with the easy way out. Otherwise I am looking at swapping over to a corvette LT1 accessory drive and then can hopefully run the corvette procharger setup.
