TBI Supercharger

Ok not sure if this is a repost but I found this online.

http://www.tbi-superchargers.com/TBI..._TBI_Kits.html

Now it says for the 4.3L V6 or the 5.7L v8 TBI setups but says nothing about the 5.0L TBI. My question is, what would it take to addapt this kit to a 5.0L TBI?

The Throttle body in the install pics looks the same as the one I have on my car now. The entire engine setup looks the same as well. Would just adding a bigger fuel pump and some decent injectors and maybe a tune allow this supercharger to do its job and make my bird fly?

Re: TBI Supercharger

It should work as good on the 5.0 as the 5.7. Looks like they gained about 80 hp. Most s/c's will be closer to the 100 hp mark, but they say they made no other mod's to the engine including tuning. So it may be possible to make more with it. As to how good of a system it is? Not sure, never seen one on a car. I would check out hood clearence also, that may be why the 5.0 isn't listed, cause they know it's in the camaro's.

Re: TBI Supercharger

think I am gonna take my chances and order it up. I will beta test it for all the rest of teh l03's seeking a way to add boost to their car. If I blow the motor then I have a reason to upgrade to the 350

Re: TBI Supercharger

Well I emailed the company for theTBI supercharger and got this response. I basically asked what it would take to rig this to my 305 and this is what was said

1st you will need to pick up an Alternator casting from
a wrecking yard or GM Parts.#10233233 90-95 GM Truck 4.3 or 5.7
This is for relocating the alt lower.
The TBI-Kit will work then.
I will need your 4 Letter Code from the computer chip.
You may need to up grade your radiator, and do you have
an electric radiator fan? My 88 GTA has Electric!!
The TBI Kit is $1775.00 + Shipping& ins.

Re: TBI Supercharger

VA454 that frequents the DIY-Prom board, and www.454ss.com has one installed on his 92' SS. So far he seems happy with it, but you might ask him for more details.

Re: TBI Supercharger

I might look into one for my Chevy truck. It might give it a boost in power for towing.
