Boost gauge for 142

Hey guys,

Im investing in a Weiand 142 blower soon and would also like to buy a boost gauge. I saw this one on summit, http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku ... looked a little bit into the installation instructions to see how it all hooks up. My question is will this gauge work with the weiand 142? Please dont sya I need to buy on of those $200 electronic ones lol. Thanks

Re: Boost gauge for 142

no you don't need a control box on an analog boost guage. i think you might be better off with this one due to you not running that much boost. i have this on my 142.

two wires for lights and install the supplied hose to a nipple off the weiand manifold

Re: Boost gauge for 142

I have the same one Slapi showed. Agreed, it's a lot easier to read 6 PSI of boost when the gague only goes up to 15 than when it goes up to 30.

You put a fitting on the end of the plastic tube that screws into the little port on top of the #5 intake runner in the lower manifold of the blower.

Very entertaining and educational to look at the needle move around as you drive.

Re: Boost gauge for 142

Cool, yea I figured since the blower is somewhat lower boost the 30 psi gouge would be a bit much. Thanks guys

Re: Boost gauge for 142

Yikes just saw the price of that gauge, a bit much. Do I need one with an electric sending unit? Otheriwse this one looks decent with a mechanical sender http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

Re: Boost gauge for 142

Not sure what the problem is, they're all right around $50 for the mechanical ones. Here's another for even less:

Routing the plastic hard line of a mechanical gague is not that difficult, you just can't put any kinks in it.
