Starting a 383 turbo project.

Im looking into an L98 or an LT1 which i would bore .030" over. I am wondering about the Cam I should run. Would an LT1 cam or a ZZ4 cam be better? Or should i go higher?

Im trying to get 400-500 hp and that same amount in torque. The 16ibs turbo should help but what do you suggest on the engine build up.

I would definately say if you are going to put in the effort to turbo the thing you should call and get a grind specifically for forced induction. They are pretty specific for turbos/nitrous/blowers and in the end it will be the best for you.

Re: Starting a 383 turbo project.

for turbo, i would suggest something around 114-116 LSA to keep the idle pretty smooth for better spool. Custom grind would be your best bet.

The lt1 cam is 202/207 dur .450/.450 with a 117 lsa
ZZ4 cam is 208/221 .474/.510 not sure on the LSA

If you are asking this question, I have to ask. Have you ever done anything like this before?

Re: Starting a 383 turbo project.

Well with only a measley 400-500. you could hit 400-500hp easly on N/A easly. I bought a super charger and wished I never did cuz for the 600hp goal I could go N/A and save a ton. My new motor is a ZZ383EFI cleaned ad ported. With a 125hp Nitrous= over 500rwhp of fun.
