I was wondering if anyone has relocated there battery to the trunk with there nitrous bottle mounted in the trunk as well. Id like to see some pictures of people who have done it. I have relocated my battery to the trunk and I want to also mount the bottle in the trunk as well but just a little unsure of how to make everything fit.
Re: Nitrous bottle mounting with Battery relocated
mine is in the spare tire compartment, the 860 bracket for 4th gens will work with just 1 mod.
you just have to drill a hole in the floor right where this bolt goes, i would recommend moving the bottle mount bolt holes up about 1.5 inches forward to get a better grip on the bottle, though it doesnt move in the stock mounting holes.
Re: Nitrous bottle mounting with Battery relocated
I like this bracket but Im not thrilled about loosing my spare tire. If I did not want to occasional drive the car on the street I would have no problem getting rid of the spare tire.
Re: Nitrous bottle mounting with Battery relocated
put the bottle on the hump of the driveshaft tunnel then it'll go in between the rear seat bottoms.

Ive seen that done in a 4th gen not my favorite option. I like the idea of the bottle being semi hidden in the well area. I took a second look at the fit of the bottle next to the battery box. All I need is a few inches to clear the bottle valve and the battery. So Im decieded to give something a try to make it fit. Im gonna take some 2" x 2" x 1/8" think steel square tubing I have laying around and cut two peices and use that as a spacer between the floor and the bottle brackets. The bottle valve is then high enough to clear the battery box and with enough room to run the blow off pipe and supply hose. I will take a couple pictures and see what you guys think. If this dosent work out I may just buy the bracket to mount it in the spare tire area.
Re: Nitrous bottle mounting with Battery relocated
you said you didn't want to lose the spare tire area, so i gave another option and now you're just going to put it in the spare tire well? o ok. The bottle should be facing forward and I don't see that being possible in the trunk storage well compared to the spare tire well or the driveshaft tunnel.

Yes thank you for the idea. I dont want to loose the spare tire but the mount in a nice idea. I realize that the bottle being mounted with the valve facing foward is optimal but the bottle can mounted side ways as long as the bottle in angled so the siphon tube is at a 45 degree angle to keep it in the liquid on acceleration. I will take a picture of the idea I just though of and I will post it to see what you guys think. If you guys think it sucks. I will try another option.
