Cool, how much you expecting to make with that combo? I wanted to go roots on this last build with another set of heads, but all of the single carbed blowers that i looked at would only support ~550 at the crank from what i was told with out overdriving the hell out of them.
I am not looking for alot of horsepower we are hoping for about 500 at thr rear wheels or around that i just always wanted a supercharger i am not much on the dual carb not really sure what it will do but i do want to take it to the dyno
Im really liking the setup. Ive always wanted to do a S/C build but went w/the HSR and a good dose of compression instead. Who makes those valve covers?
yea they look really good. ive been looking for a nice fabricated valve cover. im thinking of going with some Wysco's from Jegs if I can get them non-chromed.

That looks sweet! What size blower is that? How much boost do you anticipate you'll get from it with the pulley you have?
Oddly enough, I should be dropping my blown engine in the bay in a little over a week. Gotta say I'm jealous you can run a big cap HEI distributor with that setup, because I couldn't with mine which forced me to buy a whole new one....
Supercharged, lightly sand down the areas on the block where rust is starting to become prevalent (fuel pump, waterpump, etc.), and once your finished, lightly coat the area with some olive oil. This will prevent rust from developing in those areas again until your ready to install everything, and just before you install the parts, spray the area with some carb cleaner first to remove the olive oil from the block. You mentioned that the engine is already in the bay, so if the parts were already installed, then take the advice for any furture builds....

I'd much rather be stroked first... then blown. Wouldn't you?
Here are the pics in the bay tranny is connected also just not bolted tight.that is whay the motor is tilted so much.Should be driving by end of the june. The blower is a 144 running around 6 or 7 psi stock hopefully
Little update the drivetrain is all good to go,subframe connecters are in all exhaust work should be done by end of this week.Saturday planning on wireing it up and hopefully starting it.I will post pics this saturday of the progress
The car should be running by this weekend and the date to pick up is friday the 27th.He is going to turn down the rev limiter to 4500rpm for the weekend then after i give it back the following weekend he will fine tune and set it for 6000 rpm where it will stay. Will keep everyone updated. Its getting close finnaly after 6 months
The Good:
Drove the car today and have to say wow Tire frying sob plenty of power and only on 4 psi.Rolling 25 mph floor it and leave posi up the road still need more boost and more timing
The Bad:
3rd and overdrive do not work.Bought the trany off ebay new rebuilt my a$$ Guy is also no longer a registerd user so it all me.Will be another couple weeks till done
Talked to my brother tonight he got it out and apart. It was never rebuilt the 3rd and overdrive clutches was black and the case needs replaced some of the pins are wore bad enough where they are almost threw the case.I will keep you updated.
ditch the overdrive tranny junk and get a TH350, they are cheap, plentiful and strong. Doesn't sound like your worried about gas mileage anyway. check craigslist.com they range 100-200 used.
Got a case for 40 bucks will be ordering the rest of the rebuild parts monday morning.
Also something to think about this will be up for sale or partial trade when finisihed. It cost way more than planned and took alot of extra money i hate to do it but i have no choice. Will keep you posted and will make a new thead of coarse for thr sell or partial trade
Well a little update i got the car today. The only thing in the tranny is still bad,it needs a new one i brought it home to decide wht i want to do.I drove it home in first and second its only 5 miles and speed limit is 35 to 45 so no big deal.car has lots of power runs great.going to clean and wax it and a couple other things before i decide.I am going to do one of three things
1.clean it up sell as is
2.get new tranny sell it
3.get new tranny and keep it
Not really sure yet a blast to drive but i have alot of money in it and not sure if i want to put more in it.
I am going to keep it and fix some things.First i have to rejet carb get a better water pump an radiator.I have it all apart right now waiting on parts it is in my garage now i am doing mostly myself with some coaching from my brother. Will get some pics soon.
