V8 Twin Turbo Kit Questions

I have a 1992 Trans Am and am looking for some ways to improve the performance greatly. I was looking at eBay and noticed some twin turbo kits. Are these easy to install and would they greatly improve performance? Are there any other recommendations to improving performance that I should consider before looking into these? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Below is the link to one of the auctions that has twin turbo kits available for V8s. Would there be any additional parts that I would need to be able to add a twin turbo to my engine that isn't included in this?

Easy to install? No, anything that says "fitment and downpipe required" means you are going to have to fabricate. If you can weld, and do it all yourself its not a bad thing. But for the welder impaired you are going to have to find someone or a shop to do it for you.

That link reminds me of the S&S Autochrome rip-offs. I'd research alot before buying it, the S&S autochrom turbo headers are known to crack and cause problems.

Re: V8 Twin Turbo Kit Questions

here is one of the more recent threads on the ebay turbo kits:

http://www.thirdgen.org/techboard/po...-789-ebay.html (twin turbos for $789 ebay??)

From experience, I think it ends up being easier to build your own kit. Either way you HAVE to weld and fabricate.

That thing is a monster. You just missed a low miles Garrett GT47 series T88 with a 1.22A/R turbine on ebay for $650. The Borg Warner S400 series can be machined for an 88mm wheel for under $1500 if I remember correctly. That T88 should rip. What did you choose for a turbine?
