It takes guts to cut up a factory notchback, and I APPLAUD you for it!!!!!
Looks beautiful, what's the deal with the Intercooler, part number, etc....

I'd much rather be stroked first... then blown. Wouldn't you?
Turbos are turbonectics 62mm ball bearing motor is a 383 built for a beating. The motor made a click over 500hp n/a with just under 8:1compression. All said and done she'll make over a 1000hp to the wheels. I hoping it will be closer to 1200 but ill be happy any where in the 4 digits. She get strapped down to the rollers on the 12th and 13th of this month so ill have solid numbers then. As for the the intercooler, I had it custom made by bell intercoolers
Well the rad im using is a griffin. The fuel system a consists of dual a1000 pumps and its all being run and tuned off the FAST xfi box with traction control.
The upper rad support was notched out for the discharge tube and the lower rad support was completely cut out to allow the rad to be dropped abit. And by abit i mean alot.
I take it your going to be running a custom nose piece? I don't see the stock one working to well but I guess this is more for drag race only project no? Over all she is going to be one mean bird

No this thing is being built to be a street car. It has no specific purpose other than to scare the crap outta people including myself. the nose piece is goin to be left as stock looking as possible so for now im just gonna be working the under side to see how i can direct more air to the cooler. All said and done i want people to walk by this thing in a parking lot and think nothing of it but break there neck from the oppsite side of the same lot after she fires up. lol Car will be as stock looking as possible minus the obvious things.
The motoring gonna be run on pump gas with meth injection so im not really concerned with the cooling effects of the intercooler as the meth will do the same job.
Will that FMIC cause any cooling issues? i know willie was running a FMIC with his s/c? set up and had overheating issues.
Did you see that GTA in the car craft twisting 500hp outta a stock l98 lower end?
do the front bumper like that with speed holes hahah.. jk
so how is the radiator mounted? did you fab a lower mount up?
just got done lookin over your photobucket... mmm beautiful build... true duals, expensive everything... wow.
where do the big *** AN fittings go to on the valve covers??
nice oil pan haha i got the same, and the same valve covers sept mine have a pcv hole on top
im not feelin the mufflers but teh fuel pumps look sick
Shouldnt cause any coolin issues but will see. The rad is mounted same as the intercooler. They have flate plates welded to the side of them which bolt directly to the tops of the frame rails.
The AN fittings on the VC go to the vacuum pump.
I love the car and all. The setup looks beautiful but I dont think you want 1000+ for the street. Have you ever owned a car with 1000hp+?? Most guys i read about on other such tech forums I think would agree that 1000hp is not for the street.
I guess with turbos you can just dial down the boost and run it lower. I had the same idea as you though, i wanted 1000+ hp and would just use a boost controller to settle things down on the street. Now that im thinking about being more practical and what i really want to use my car for (road race and race courses) I think im just gonna settle for a measly 700 rwhp at full power.
Not to bring you down or anything, what your saying is capable and you are way ahead of me but I see a lot of ppl looking down at comments like "1000hp for the streets"
im runninga innovative gtb t88 turbo on my 89 camaro. i like the intercooler.
do you know the power rating on it. im runnin e85 but having a intercooler will still help.
what fuel tank are you running with the dual pumps. is it a stock sumped tank. and do you have any pics. thanks.
im shooting for 1000 whp as well. and mine is a street car too. but so is my s10 and its running 9.993 at 135
i guess its just how much power your used to.

Thanks for the your input, i have never owned a car with 1000+ hp but i do owe one with 700 and its a blast to cruize around in on sunny days. You gotta realize it is being built as a street car but its not like its gonna be driven every day. Wish i could afford the gas to do that lol. Your comment above about the turning it down with the boost controller is bang on and exactly what i was thinkin of doin if the power is a little too much but i think you missed the post below where i said the car will have traction control so i think the it should be fine with over 1000 on the street. As for people looking down on what im building, they can do and say whatever they want im not buildin the car for them.

power rating is around 1200. It was custom made and that is what i told them i was using it for b4 they biult it. Im using a stock sumped tank and i do have a few pics of it outta the car that i can send you.

Did you fab up that intake tube from the intercooler to the TB yourself? Where did you get the rubber couplings? What size?
Yes the intake tube was hand fabbed and the couplers are 4inch at the tb and 2.5 at the intercooler. i picked them up at my local performance parts store.

how do you make 500hp on motor with 8 to 1? i'm near 500 with 11 to 1! thats crazy!
nice build, looking good
Turbo engines are all low compression #s. The pressure of 20+ lb of boost is where the HP comes from. Start with 11 to 1 & 2-+ lbs of boost, & say goodbye to your heads. Doubtful it would even start.
Hi ... Im interested in your after market front suspension,Im in australia and would like to know where you got it and whats it worth...
Hey there, the front k member is from PA racing the control arms and coil overs came from Spohn. If i were to to it again id would get the sphon k member so just check out there site for prices at Spohn.net
I was thinking of doing the same on my front, not sure if it will look good on any other color than black? But I have to find a spare front to cut up first.
I have more pictures of the Polly car at home, maybe the cutout is "clearer" on one of thoose I can take a look if you like?

i agree......11:1 or 8:1 doesnt matter on start up......it only matters when you have 20+lbs of boost on top of that piston. You CAN make a motor live with 11:1 and 20lbs of boost.....just not on 93 octane.
No numbers yet. Tuner couldnt make it up from florida on the date we set so the cars still sittin and waitin. Were in talks to get him up here next week but still no confirmed date.
Wow, this has to be one of the sickest 3rd GENS I've ever seen
Some great craftsmanship and many of hours of planning have been put into this project and it shows.
Quick Q, though... What Thermostat housing is that? I also have an HSR w/58mm and I have been looking for a swivel type housing that will fit under the TB. All the ones i have found are too tall and run into the IAC housing. My IC tubing runs directly in front of the stock stat housing outlet forcing me to angle towards the passenger side instead of the drivers side. TIA!
you could run 13:1 with a turbo but it would be on c16, alcohol, or e85 ethonol and very low boost arround 7lbs. the reason turbo motors run such low compressin is only and i mean only to run more boost. reason being. a NA motor can make about 30 hp max per comp point. a turbo motor under boost to match the same compression will make arround 50hp. so for every extra lb of compression we build with boost is almost 20 more hp over na. thats why a 4cyl can make v8 power and a sbc can make built to the hilt bbc numbers. without crazy heads and one off parts. mine is 8.4:1 and im plannin on starting off at 15lbs with my t88 on e85
