I tried to get a hold of BBS designs for a turbo kit and they never got back to me so I'm assuming that they no longer are able to do them. I saw this and was wondering what everyone thought. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Chevy...spagenameZWDVW
It looks to be for carbs but I bet it could be adapted for TPI!
Well, it is a universal kit but does anyone have a better idea? It surprises me that with the callaway corvettes and how long the tpis have been around, there isn't a decent turbo kit. However, my cousin has a 93 honda civic hatch and he has tons of options to choose from.

He might be away for the moment, as he got back to me immediately when I had a question for him recently. He's still offering turbo headers, Click Here....

I'd much rather be stroked first... then blown. Wouldn't you?
I know about the turbo headers, thanks, good looking out. I was kind of looking for a whole kit though because after over 6 hours of reading between here, turbomustangs, and homemadeturbo, I just don't know where to go for parts. OK, like where do you get a 749 pcm from? What about the late model supra intercooler? I know about the turbo headers but what about the rest of the piping? How big should I go for 8 psi? Too many questions and I know I could ask the members on the board because they have always been there whenever I needed their wisdom but when it comes to turbos there isn't much for the bowtie crowd yet stupid little hondas have an easy time finding a turbo.

Tim's setup is awesome, but you don't have to base your setup around his. You don't need to run the $59 mask, it's not necessary, unless you have your heart set on running the '730 and/or '749 ECM. Just get your hands on a Megasquirt like I am, and call it a day. Any credible shop can build a crossover tube from one header to the other, as well as the corresponding downpipe w/cut out to the catalytic converter....

Also, just to point out, I don't believe BBS ever made a whole entire kit, per se....
I while back we use to make an almost complete kit; complete exhaust, turbo, downpipe, intake and oil lines, but with the turn that the business took we are doing just the header part now. We might go for it in the future.
all4u: send me an email with your questions, this past week my wife and I were signing for our new home.
Yeah, I'm still interested yet I didn't get a reply back from you. After sending two email and not hearing anything in five days, I figured that you didn't need the business and I should go elsewhere. I didn't mean that you live in front of the computer or nothing. Reply to my email when you get time. I understand, just wanted to get my car finished before I go to Iraq. I'm not feeling so good this time around!
I still haven't heard back from bbs designs and people have been saying that ssautochrome. Hopefully bbsdesigns will get ahold of me soon. I found this online. http://www.yourhotcar.com/prod/Custo...ger_Kit/548972#
What do you all think of this one? They show it on a tpi vehicle and I understand that I will need some sort of engine management and exhaust work but there haven't been that many options besides custom work.
I kind of noticed that but I thought that was my imagination. What do people think of this kit? I would like to talk to the person who owns that camaro and see if they liked it. Who's is it?
That kit in that picture is either a do-it-yourself job, or a BBS twin turbo setup. SSautochrome doesn't make headers that will position the turbos like that.
Just so you know, those ssautochrome "kits" aren't for any specific car. They are just generic for a car with a small block chevy engine. To get it all installed on your car, its still going to take a good amount of custom work.
Your best bet is to keep hounding BBS Designs until they come thru. Use thier headers, and then piece togather all the parts you need and make your own "kit."
After reading through this post maybe a turbo "kit" might not be the way to go for him. They are not just a slap it on and go type of hot rodding. Don't get me wrong, I like to see people do it themselves and succeed. Just be aware of the magnitude of work involved. Street Leathal is right though, use a Megasquirt. It is the most versitle, user friendly, and cost effective ECU going. Just my 2 cents.

Ok, that's covered, where to go for an intercooler. TurboedTPI used a late model supra intercooler, where's a good place to go for one of those? Thanks in advance.
I know that! Not all vendors have good products or they are rip offs. I miss the days when auto forums were more helpful. Not use the search function and you do and it doesn't help. The days where you ask a question and not be shot down for every idea and told to do what everyone else had already tried. Maybe that's why the import crowd does so well, is because they actually help each other. That more than what I can say about some of the posts I've had here. Seeing as that there are no decent kits out there and bbs designs doesn't answer emails or pm's cause they are busy, I'm trying to go custom. Maybe that is too hard for people to help another person out with. I don't know. I would though, like to say thanks to street lethal and TurboedTPI for the PM's and the posts to try and help. At least there are still people on this board that remember the days when forums were more helpful.

Six hours of learning about turbo theory, parts, resources, etc is a blink of an eye. People spend weeks, months, years researching turbo stuff before building or intalling. Yes, you have questions. Yes, they have been answered many times. Yes, a few have answered them explicitly just for you. That was nice of them.
749 ECM came in the GM Syclone and Sunbird..........but you don't need a 749 anyway.
Late model Supra aftercooler is good depending on the HP / airflow of your setup
The rest of the piping (besides headers) can be the same material as the headers
How big is what for 8 PSI?
Honda engine sized turbos are a dime-a-dozen because factory turbo cars have that size. The header is simple to make compared to a V8.
The bowtie crowd finds turbos all over the place. You just have to put in the time to figure (research) it out. Many just give up and go the supercharger or nitrous route. Not that they are bad, it is that you can get the "bolt-on" kit you are looking for.

I searched ebay for supra intercooler and found tons of them. Most of them even came with pipe you can use to fabricate your cold side. Keep in mind, nothing is going to be a direct bolt in. Its all going to take work. Intercooler mounts, pipe routing, cut the pipes to proper length, etc.
Need more pipe for the downpipe or something.. its just exhaust pipe. Its available all over the place. Want it to last forever? Google stainless exhaust pipe.
Seriously man, the stuff you are looking for is everywhere. I'm piecing togather a turbo kit myself, and every site I've found that sells anything turbo related, also sells all the stuff you are asking for.
BBS designs still doesn't PM or email me. Does anyone know what is up with them? Is everything ok with him and his family? I hope nothing bad happened.
