The incorrect burst discs were installed in Bottle Valves commonly used on small nitrous bottles (10 oz. to 2.5 lb.). While the incorrect disc does not pose an immediate danger if the Bottle is used in a manner consistent with nitrous refilling procedures and use, the combination of overfilling a Bottle and exposing the Bottle to high temperatures may cause the Bottle pressure to exceed the safe working limits of the Bottle resulting in Bottle failure (bursting). Because the defective Bottle can burst, the defect can cause injury without prior warning. | | | |
