ebay twin turbo headers do not fit the 3rdgen
one set puts the turbos threw the hood
and the other set hits the steering linkage.

So if you go with aftermarket power steering or no power steering, then that one just might be able to be used, you think?

Re: Who has the pics of that ebay twin build??
no the linkage is still in the same place it still hits.
one person on these boards used them, but had to cut up and reweld the ds header
also iirc he used the headers and built a crossover to make it into a single turbo setup
used as twin turbo setup i do belive either the turbos or the downpipes will end up hitting the subframe
the only ebay header that directly fits is the bbs knockoff single turbo header

Re: Who has the pics of that ebay twin build??
i bought the twin turbo ebay manifolds, thinking i could chop them up and it would save me the work. After i mocked them up, i decided to build my own. The twin kit is definately not a "bolt on" if you use it in the stock configuration, the turbo's run into the radiator, and they don't fit the 88-92 brackets and pullies either. Not saying you can't chop them up and make them work, but i didn't like how it would look.

Re: Who has the pics of that ebay twin build??
im knew to this site but have been on the turboforums alot. i bought one of the ebay twin turbo kits and they will not work with the serpentine belt system i am in the process of cutting up the headers and making the turbos mount by the calve covers. the kit is pretty decent for chinese stuff and i know of 6 of those turbos runnin around and not a single one has blown up and they will support 450hp a peice at 20psi

Re: Who has the pics of that ebay twin build??
i meant by u saying @ 20 psi it dosent take 20 psi to get 450hp each from one of those turbos. it depends on the motor.heads/cam etc.
by saying 2 of those used as twins u need to hit 20 psi to reach the max on each turbo is gonna mislead ppl

Thanks for the pics. Tells a true story. I'd hate to try to fab up an STS clone, since I really wanted to run the SLP Loudmouth. But, that may have to get sacrificed for power.

Re: Who has the pics of that ebay twin build??
i have some also. Just have to dig em all out.
I bought all the ebay setups to test fit.
like the picture above show. They just squeeze in. I think I would fit a thin piece of cardboard between the steering shaft.

Re: Who has the pics of that ebay twin build??
mine sit too high if you want to keep them under the hood. with a 4" cowl and elbow style intake setup, you can tuck the turbos inward more and get both to clear under the hood with a similar manifold to what i have. If i could do it all over again, I want to make the turbos out in front of the motor more

I am trying to keep it all under the stock T/A 4-vent hood. (And maybe look into making the two front vents functional as intakes)
Right now, most of my concentration is going into the mini-tub and suspension (Narrowed fab-9" with stock-style suspension)

Re: Who has the pics of that ebay twin build??
Thats what I was thinking... I will most likely run a "stabil-trac" or similar system for my accessories. I definately want to keep my a/c and I will be relocating my coolant tank and getting rid of the windshield washer tank. Battery has been relocated, so I have some room to play with.

Single is easier to do period but twins are cooler IMO.
If I was to hang my turbos out in front more I probly could get it to clear the stock hood just fine. Many others have done this, just have to be picky on your accessories and good with downpipe fabrication. If i was to move my turbos over the valve covers more, i could fit both turbos under the 4" hood but downpipes would be abit harder to pull off where I ran them now.

Re: Who has the pics of that ebay twin build??
The accessory drive that I am thinking of puts all the accessories within the perimeter of the front of the engine. I'm hoping I can put the turbos in almost the same area that the a/c compressor and alternator were. I am most concerned with cooling. I also dont want to cut the front bumper cover up. (Really want to keep the stock appearance, despite the 275/30R18 and 335/25R19 tires, LOL) Have to figure some way to get air to the radiator, condensor and intercooler.

Got any pics with the giant holes in the hood? Looks nice. Why two different colored compressor outlet silicone couplers?

Re: Who has the pics of that ebay twin build??
That looks decent. On most cars it wouldn't look good because a lot of the turbo would stick out. The 3rds have a lot of hood clearance because of the TPI unit being so tall.
Are those China T4/T3 hybrids or something else? They look like china T04E 46 trims with the T3 turbine.

I agree they look just like the turbos I have, and that are going on Lee's car (Excellegions), except with Lee's, we are doing internal wastegates and a unique downpipe setup. With the narrow angle v6 in my car, it was tough to get both turbos under the hood, but I didn't want to cut my hood, but I will have to say that, turbobike, that is clean for a cut hood! Did you do anything to keep the edges from rusting?

Re: Who has the pics of that ebay twin build??
Things have been going well. How have you been? Still building turbo setups? I haven't done much with the cars lately. I started collecting parts for a Kawasaki on/off road motorcycle turbo project. I have been wasting a lot of time reading the MS1 code trying to figure out how I can make it work with a 2 tooth - non-uniform trigger wheel.

Right now have a '93 Camaro 3.4 here that was shipped from VA for a full resto-mod using the FWD aluminum top end parts, full tubular rear suspension, Moser center section guts, aluminum rear drum conversion, Performabuilt tans with 3200k stall, tubular k, tubular upper and lower control arms, sub frame connectors, Corvette front brake conversion, cam, headers, exhast, pretty much the works. Right now I am in the middle of doing the OBD1 non-PROM ECM swap to a '9396 OBD1 so that I can grasp the tune before pulling the motor/trans out. This way I have a running engine (crate) to make sure the ECM swap goes well before swapping the top end/cam. In the end it should be a quick V6 with a few suspension modifications, lightened quite a bit, high flowing heads, 11.5:1 SCR and a powerplant that tips the scales at 340lbs. Once I get all the major work completed the owner is interested in having my friend paint the car and have a carbon fiber hood/spoiler installed so he can eat up some LT1's haha.
Then I also have my '86 BMW that I am contiplating swapping in a GM ECM so I can tune for the newer, better flowing top end and cam I have for it. The ECM in there now is tunable, but don't have the luxury of a one-point datalogging port like we do with the GM ECM. It should be fun to see how the car is after gaining another 80hp (180-200 up from 110) or so in a car that only weighs about 2700lbs.
I gather the the bike has some type of DIS or coil-on-plug rather than a distributor?
Also just built a JAW, and it's working flawlessly. Can't beat a programmable wide band controller with display for less than $100
Couple pics of my twin build...

Money has been crazy, and holiday seasons are not making the project go any faster, but Im still working on it people! have not given up yet!! I will post more pix, I slightly bent the pipe that was touching the steering column inward, cleared that, and working on the custom power steering unit as you can see in the pic. solutions for ac compressor and aleternator brackets are next. Hey John, we gonna be needing those idle pullies on both sides of the waterpump very soon!!!

Hey John!!
If you notice the hole where the battery tray is, Im planning on having the downpipe go out of the turbo, go down that hole, swing around and back into the engine bay. you can see that pipe that is running under the deader on the driver side, when the pipe comes back into the bay it will run back under the header and down. I want to do the exact same to the other side. Gonna need your pipe bending specialties.
