b&m 144 blower

ok i purchased a used 144 blower. its a b&m. for some reason mine looks different from others i have seen. i will try and post pics this afternoon. the rear case end looks different. the holes that the bolts go in to bolt it to the manifold dont go from the top down. the hole begins half way down the case end has a space and then goes through a lower hole into the manifold. also the idler holes on the snout arent on the very end. it has the 2 holes in the center of the snout but the ones ive seen on other blowers also have the 2 holes at the end of the snout. i cant find any evidence that the holes were ever there. the snout is completely smooth on the end. thanks for any info.

Re: b&m 144 blower

Holley now owns the B&M design 144 and the Weiand design 142 blowers. Call their tech support and talk to them. They will probably be able to tell you about the differences you see with your blower. Chances are, it's just old and the design was different back then.

Re: b&m 144 blower

here are some pics. ive compared it to other b&m's and its still different. the case holes just arent the same. the case number is 4777. its almost like the case is 1/2" shorter than normal or the carn mounting location is 1/2" back. i know b&m made a rare 164 or 168 blower. maybe i have one of these? let me know what you all think.

That key is a standard 3/16" key. You should be able to pick one up at your local hardware store.

Re: b&m 144 blower

well i found out its actually a 142 not a 144 like the guy said. now i have another problem. the only tensioner i can find at holley is nose mounted. the 142 doesnt have the 2 holes on the very front of the nose to mount this tensioner like the 144 does. i need the old style waterpump mounted tension. does anyone know were i can find one of these. this is all i found at holley. http://holley.com/90822.asp

blower drive service, the blower shop, hampton superchargers all sell parts for the little b&m/weiand/holley blowers. just google weiand supercharger parts/service.
