So i know that all the tbi guys are wondering if a procharger works with tbi well good news for you all it does i bought a tpi setup from a guy i know and adapted it to my tbi and it works just had to buy a carb hat and a small peice of 4 inch tube im still tuning and getting all the bugs out but last night i saw 5lbs and i still have to make a gasket for the carb hat so i know im loosing boost there. ill post pics later tonight so you can see the magic.

im still tweaking everything but last night under boost my air fuel was in the rich side but not by much and i havent installed the helper pump yetso my guess is its going to be ok
no times yet but it feels like a low 12 second car now and it runs great no problems yet except the damn cooling issue which i finally got worked out by moving the intercooler over towards the driver side and building a scoop up front to catch more air but it feels fast im going to go to the track next month hopefully so ill be sure to post times when i do
Is it a VAFPR? As in under boost it allows higher FP? Under VAC or reduced VAC it reduces FP?
With a one bar MAP sensor the stock ECU cannot see boost (>100 MAP) so one needs a 2 bar. Then the ECU needs to recognise boost (MAP > 100. That would suggest an ECU swap may be a good idea.

Add in a WB02 to confirm not too lean.
the fmu increases fuel pressure when it sees boost and when not in boost its at normal pressure.
and your correct the computer is not seeing the map sensor when under boost so the computer doesnt know when the cars in boost which is what the fmu is for so if i had a computer that i could program for boost then i wouldnt need the fmu just bigger injectors and a tune
i did tune the fmu with a wbo2 and its running at 11.5 to 1 at 7-8 psi so its actualy running rich which is what its supposed to do.
hope i answered your questions if you gat anymore just shoot them over
Lets say you are at idle at 40 VAC(60 MAP) and 16 lbs FP for TBI. The RPMS come up and boost is in effect and lets say you are now under pressure at 160 MAP. I believe it is a 1 to1 ratio(lineal) on fuel management or increased pressure. I recall seeing that on my Aero VAFPR instructions for boost. Since pressure went up 100 MAP did that increase FP by 100% to 32 lbs?

the map sensor and computer are seeing wot and they are not seeing any boost due to 1 bar map so the computer just opens the injectors up as if the car would be na at wot the actual feul pressure is increased with the fmu and i have not put a gauge on it to see what the actual feul pressure is because i know that im running at 11.5 to 1 afr so the actual pressure is no concern to me as long as my air fuel is right. so the computer is acting like a na car and opening the injectors as if it were na and the fmu is just there to increase pressure so more fuel gets dumped down the intake
my guess would be that fuel pressure is around 60psi under boost but i havent checked it so to answer your quetion ill put a gauge on it and check sometime this week
so i went and got the car dyno'd the other day and the numbers came out pretty good but alittle low do to im pretty sure i got valve float but i made 363 hp at 5200. i got some work to do to get to my 425 goal. just keeping you guys updated on what a tbi is capable of
Jegs sells .50 inch aluminum spacers(2 of them) to lift the 2.00 inch bonnett to clear the pods. Plastic cracked and nickel sized piece lodged in the TBlade! WTF I could not get idle under 3000 rpms! A 3.75 inch is too high and hits my under hood.
hey sorry for the lateness but i just checked out my carb hat and it is a 3.5 inch hieght and a 4 inch inlet i bought it off of ebay and it fits my car with a 1 inch tbi spacer and a ram air2 hood hope this helps
