I've recieved a request from a member to post up pics of my BBS setup with a MP T-70, specifically the clearance arount the turbo.
The BBS manifold has been great for me, only needing very minor modification to fit perfectly (slight enlargement of bolt holes) and makes quick and amazing power. So much power that I think I've found the limit of the cast pistons in my engine. Ive been running 12lbs of boost and slowly adding timing, now at 26 deg under boost, and have recently been getting excessive activity out of my breathers. Its like a misty, oily fog. I think I hurt a ringland or ring itself but didn't have time to do a leakdown test this weekend to see what might be up. The engine still pulls as strong as ever though. I'm tempted to pull back the timing and turn up the boost and see what happens.
I've been thinking of going with the BBS header also but I can't seem to find out how tight access to the spark plugs is. Are you able to get to them with the turbo in place or do you have to remove it to access the plugs? Great looking set up, by the way.....
I take the downpipe off (its on v clamps) and all plugs are readily accessible, but some (#2) are easier to do from underneath. thanks for the compliment, it's functional and a ton of fun on the street.
im about 40 minutes north of albany, and attend LV.
Occasionally, but I mainly like to play on the street. It's hard to do now cause I recently sold my "race" car and I just bought a stock IROC. It'll be fun next year though.
