Camaro speed upgrade advice needed

wierd title i know. couldnt think of another way to say it lol. ok well i have a stock '84 z28 h.o. and im now switching th tranny out for a 5-speed. i just wanted to know what upgrades can i do to it to increase the acceleration on it while shes down. im not talking about on the strip just some more push for when some import pulls up i dont look stupid lol. any advice would be helpfull and considered. if you want to bash me for ignorence save me the time and go back to looking at porn.

btw i know parts and all that, i would just like people who have the mods done or had them done/did them on brands and stuff, what too look for and what to stay away from.

so many places... exhaust is a great place to start, stock is horribly restrictive. biggest acceleration difference you'll notice is by swapping out rear gears to a higher ratio, however this will reduce your top speed and fuel economy

the cheap stuff would be to get a set of headers and a cat back exhaust from summit, if you look enough you can find both for under 200

a cold air intake would be good too, fbodymotorsports has there own or you can make your own

pick up a set of 3.73's and get yourself a posi while your back there(not included in final stats cause its very expensive)

lastly a power programmer or chip would do you good, especially with the new exhaust and intake

Grand total: about $500
Power added: about 50-60
headers: 8-10 hp
exhaust: 15 hp
CAI: depending upon the setup up to 15 hp
Power programmer: depending on brand up to 25 hp
