Right now Hellion Power Systems has a poll on there home page titled "what should hellion's next kit be?" Among the various choices is a bullet for the 3rd gen f-body. Now I know that I don't have to tell you all what this would mean for us as f-body enthusiast; but in case you didn’t already know, there is no other current "over the counter" turbo kit being produced to fit our 3rd gens. Further, for all of those 4th gener's, who knows? Maybe your vote wins the poll for your 3rd gen brethren. Then what? Maybe hellion sees the light @ the end of the tunnel and decides to produce a kit for 4th gens as well.
This is a great opportunity that should be capitalized upon. PLEASE follow the link below and cast your vote! And feel free to post this tread in other forums. Tell everyone you know!
Lmao. Just tryin to keep up. This is fun. Ill vote when I go the the computer lab at school tomorrow. Its the last week of this phaze, & I wont have anything to do anyway. Ill get us at least 12 more votes. Wonder if I can vote on my phone too. Ill try.
keep voting! shouldn't have a problem getting votes if the tgo community rallies, maybe post in tech/general engine? don't think a lot of folk hang out in power adder forum
[edit] they've gotten some two thousand votes in forty days. we should be able to beat that!

A lot of people "want" an off-the-shelf 3rd gen kit. Then they see the $4,000 and up price tag and change their mind. That is why no one sells a kit for it. Besides, having a custom system is more appropriate for most builds because the setup is designed toward the engine.
Targeting a stock C6 or something like that makes more sense. Making a system for a stock C6 (which most people have) will yield the best bang for the buck. The C6 guys are more likely to have and spend the money for a kit.
Not trying to offend you guys, just giving you why no one makes a kit for the 3rd. This has been discussed and tried before.

Same old story. Everybody wanted a notchback replica, as well as a Japanese hood for their third gens, then when they start getting made they're suddenly too pricey for everyone. Most of the time people simply want these ideas to become a reality, just to say that they're available for their rides, but how many will literally be willing to spend more on the Hellion setup alone than they did on the car itself. BBS still makes a sweet turbo header setup, and I'm sure it will cost much less when all is said and done....

The notchback replica looks NOTHING like the factory version.
Last I checked, the Japanese hood is NOT available stateside (yet) and the company in Japan making them are unreceptive at best to dealing with outsiders.
You also mention the BBS kit. You realize that for the money, you only ONE header not a pair. You still have to buy another set of regular headers (shorty-style IIRC) to cannibalize for the other side of the engine. here comes the math:
For the sake of argument,
BBS = ~$500 + $750 to 1000 for a set of shorties
=$1250 to $1500 total just for hotparts. Hotparts that are only good for 500hp at best.
Locally, I can get the local speedshop to make a set of tubular turbo manifolds in stainless steel for the same price which will support more than double the hp as previously mentioned. Also keep in mind that this is based on "guy-off-the-street-with-no-connections" Canadian prices. I am positive that the american prices would be far more reasonable.
It bugs me when ppl on here get up on there soapbox on the corner of piss and moan, carrying on about how expensive every little speedpart is. So then they find the cheapest chinese knock-off from e-gay, and get ripped off once or perhaps numerous times, when it could have been far more economical to just do it right the first time. If you want a cheap hobby, cars AREN'T for you. IF you can't afford to do it right the first time, do you have the money for every other consecutive time? NO ONE will take Third-gens seriously when their owners take this "Stroker McGurk"- approach or act as if they were born in a trailer park toilet.
Back on topic, Even if Hellion just sold the hotside plumbing (T4 or T6) w/o turbo and built it to support a good amount of HP (more than BBS) then they would be on to something.
Hellion is also a bigger company with diverse product lines. They have MORE than enough ford guys to buy their stuff than xyz company that caters to just third gen f-bodys.

You are misinformed, a similar version of the "Japanese" hood was going to be manufactured here in the states, but when members who initially supported the idea heard it would cost up to $1000.00 each for a group purchase, everybody started backing out. Try again....

You have no idea what you are talking about, and are greatly misinformed. Bermudez already quoted me, and many others, thirteen hundred ($1300.00 in case you have dyslexia) for the entire set; the passenger turbo header, the drivers side shorty header, the crossover, and the downpipe. There are T67's, T76's and even T88's selling for less than $500 on ebay that are PROVEN, there are wastegates selling on ebay for $150.00 that are PROVEN, there are Intercooler's selling on ebay for $150.00 that are PROVEN, there are COMPLETE Megasquirt ECM setups that sell for $500.00 that are PROVEN, and will control any amount of boost that you can throw at it. Hmm, what's left? Okay, then there is intake tubing, couplers, clamps and blow off valve, which can be had for less than another $100.00. What is that so far, hmm, let's see; 1300+500+150+150+500+100= $2700....

I believe Justin (TurboedTPI) made 600-RWHP at only 15-psi, who's been running that setup for years.

LMMFAO, who the hell cares what you can get for locally? This is about cost justification of a Hellion setup, which you clearly cannot justify, no matter how hard you try to twist and turn your argument. The Hellion is a complete waste of time and money, and anyone could build a better setup for much less. If you have a problem with BBS, well than that is your problem, but the fact remains that its a cheaper option than the Hellion and always will be....
