my car is a l98 with bout 10000 miles on the rebuild vortech heads 500 lift cam full bolt on with 24lbs injectors at 50 psi of FP 6speed rebuilt but stock bottom end and a 730 ecu it is SD.. my question is short of tuning would it be ok to do a turbo system with5-7 psi. meaning will it blow up or do i have to change alot cause its SD thanks see real quick thanks

whats you compression ratio?

You can put 6psi on nearly anything, and with lower compression it can stand more. Worst case you need bigger injectors, bigger fuel pump, different MAP sensor for boost, boost reference fuel pressure regulator, and a proper tune. Wideband AFR sensor/gauge would be a good idea also, but not required.

ok compression should be stock i have a bigger fuel pump i dont know what a boost reference FP regulator and i i know i saw some where on here to get map sensors for better tuning thanks guys

I'd think the stock MAP sensor only reads up to atmospheric pressure, making it a 1 bar sensor. You'd need a MAP to be 2 bar for 15psi max boost, 3 bar for 30psi max b oost, and so on. The stock fuel pressure regulator may work since it should have a manifold pressure line going to it that will also give it boost. If nobody can tell you it'll work, you could try putting some psi to the regulator and see if fuel pressure rises at least 1:1. If you put 10psi to the regulator hopefully fuel pressure rises at least 10psi. You could probably make do without a proper FPR and MAP sensor if you only use a few psi of boost and tune it knowing that the computer/system will be skewed in areas of boost.

ok thanks ill just get a 2 bar map and as far as Fp goes rite now it sits a 50 psi ca its got a bigger than stock pump ill just try it with that get the 2 bar and tune it thanks again
