Anyone know someone at procharger?

So the camaro I picked up has a D1 supercharger with it. Well when the guy bought the kit, 10 years ago, procharger sent the wrong bracket with the kit. It has the P600 bracket which does not even come close to working. So I call procharger and they won't do sh*t for me, basically I have to buy the correct bracket, to the tune of 415 + shipping I'm sure.

Does anyone have an in with them? Sponsor maybe? I really do not want to spend that much for the bracket when they made the mistake.

Thanks
Will

Re: Anyone know someone at procharger?

Dang, that sucks. Whats wrong with it. Does the D1 not even fit in the bracket? What about modifications to the bracket to work with it. any pic's? etc..

for $400+ to buy one from ATI you could make your own for way less. I have a Novi2000 on a lt1 in my camaro. Never had a kit for that setup. Everything was made.

Mark had it on his L98 then I modified it to work on a LT1 in my car. Just something to think about. Might be easier/cheaper for sure to make what ya have work.

Re: Anyone know someone at procharger?

I dont see how the bracket I have can be modified to work it is pretty different. I can't find pic's of it on the net and dont' have my scanner hooked up currently.

The one I have mounts the blower vertical and has a backwards J looking slot on it.

The bracket I need mounts the blower at like a 2 o'clock angle and has a C notched into the side. It also puts the blower a couple of inches further to the driver side than the one I have.

I'm sure I can get one cheaper from a dealer, the tech even told me that. I talked a shop that made steel procharger brackets for LS1 cars and they said they could make me a steel one cheaper if I sent them a D1 bracket for them to copy. By the time I send them a bracket to copy and have them ship the two back and pay for it I am sure I'd be right at buying one, not to mention finding someone to loan me one to send to them.

Point is that they sent the wrong bracket and should swap it out for the correct one. The previous owner should have looked in the book to verify he got all the correct Shtuff. I can bitch about it all day. haha.

buy the braket, if you mess up even a little at the positioning of the blower you will put to much strain on the crank pulley and run the high risk of snappin the crank at the snout or ruining your bearings with the vibrations....

I appreciate the input. I honestly have no desire to try and make something work and I am not going to fork out 400+ for the correct bracket. Unless I find a deal on one I will probably just end up selling the head, FMU, Pump etc and the pair of dual high flows that I picked up to put on instead of the 3 core that came with it. That can go towards building a stout forged motor and I will nitrous the hell out of it like every camaro I have owned.

Re: Anyone know someone at procharger?

3rd Gen Will, I can make the brackets. I've made them in the past. Last year I made one for a guy who bought my P1SC (same bracket for the D1) and then I bought my P1SC back from him when he upgraded to a D1SC. The D1SC bolted right up on the bracket just fine and he still has had no issues. You're just looking for the bracket and not the pullies and spacers correct?

Re: Anyone know someone at procharger?

Like AC said the brackets can be made. Take him up on that offer if the Price is right.
Its not that hard to do stuff like this. Measure , measure , measure , 3x then cut once.

Then again You have a good idea on selling the stuff and building a forged bottom end that can handle more powder and always buy another supercharger down the road.

If you do start selling stuff Im interested in the 3 core. PM or email me. I have some nitrous stuff Im getting rid of since Im boosted now.

Re: Anyone know someone at procharger?

TPI383, you have a pm on the intercooler.

AC, yes sir I just need the D1 bracket. I have to check if I have the spacers or not, either way I can just buy the spacer kit, that shouldn't be too heinous. I do have all the pulleys.

The D1 and the D1sc brackets are different according to the install manual. I can see if my blower bolts into the SC bracket correctly because my brother has an F1 on his 92. If the SC bracket will work with the oil fed D1 I am definitely interested. Shoot me a PM.

Re: Anyone know someone at procharger?

The P1SC, D1SC and F1A brackets are the same, that much I know because I've talked with Procharger alot on interchangability. I didn't realize the D1 brackets were diff so you want to check that out for sure, just call Procharger and ask them if the D1 will bolt up on a bracket that came with a D1SC kit.

Re: Anyone know someone at procharger?

Here is a picture of the two bracket from the book. I actually have two small idler/tensioner 12 rib pulleys, so that is also kind of weird because they show one large and one small on the D1 bracket. Luckily for me my brother is running a cog set up so i can "borrow" some of his 12 rib stuff if I have to. HAHA

I am going to take my blower over to my brothers house and see if it looks like it can work.

Would you be able to make the D1 bracket or just the S/C bracket. I am assuming you have a template/program that you can make the S/C bracket from.

Re: Anyone know someone at procharger?

Ok so the D1 pretty much doesn't stand a chance at fitting onto SC bracket. The mounting bolt circle is actually tighter on the SC's than on the D1. The bolt holes do not line up what so ever. SO I will definitely have to get the correct bracket one way or another if I am going to put the blower on.
