supercharger

well heres the deal i have the v6 camaro. and i want a supercharger. however when i search for it it always leads to a v8 supercharger. i dont like turbos and a v8 build is for a later date, for a different camaro. so my question is any one now where i can find a v6 supercharger? under 500 would be a dream but any price under 1500 is good. umm doesnt really have to be direct bolt on kinda speak but it would be nice.

Re: supercharger

A turbo would be the cheapest route in this case. If you're dead-set on a supercharger, the next best option would be to use an oem Eaton Supercharger from the salvage yard. They do not have to be mounted directly on the intake but you would have to fab up brackets, an air box to bolt the s/c on top of and figure out the belts/pulleys.

In the case of a turbo, it would just be a matter of making a Y pipe off the manifolds and a downpipe back to the original exhaust.. oh and an oil feed/return.

By the way, it wouldn't be a bad idea to grab the injectors from the car you get the S/C from. I'd be tempted to get the ECM too, since it is set up for boost.

Re: supercharger

Ah that carb makes it easier in some ways. I wonder if those eatons can handle a carb in front of the rotors?

Re: supercharger

Any non centrifugal SC will have rotors to compress the air inside the unit

The rotors will survive being wet with fuel

Newer units have a teflon coating on the roters to improve seal and efficiency. The are sometimes not-ok with having gas thru them but they are NEVER happy with methanol on them
