Re: super charge with nitrous

A hope and a prayer.

But no really, one or the other is usually the way to go. If you were to run both you would need the best forged internals you can get and low compression.

A "mild" 350 won't cut the mustard.

If you're going to run any boost at all, it's going to take all top shelf components!!!! Aftermarket block, billet crank and rods, 2618 pistons, ZG rings, and some really, really first rate machine and assembly work..... Not just a check it with plastigage and run it operation---if you want it to live....

True that. If your gonna put boost to that motor i would get some nice blower pistons, usually you want to start with a motor with lower compression if you are gonna put boost to it. Also make sure you get a a forged steel crank and billet main caps, or between the boost and nitrous that motor won't last long.

They compliment one another. The nitrous cools down the intake charge from the blower. But - Even with a forged bottom end, it'd better be tuned right. Don't allow it to go lean, and keep the timing backed down enough so it doesn't detonate. Also as mentioned, lower compression pistons will help squeeze more power out of that combo and stay safe....

Re: super charge with nitrous

what the last two people said. Its all in the tune. There are a few people running GOBS of boost on stock blocked lower ends and doing fine.

I need to finish plumbing my nitrous.
I have a fully forged 383 with a novi 2000 pulled for 12psi. and a 125 shot on top of that.(again to cool the intake charge)

forged internals. you need something to withstand all of the boost/laughing gas that you are throwing down that thing.
