Its a late 80s truck block, 2 bolt main [going to splayed 4 bolt mains], .040 overbore
Eagle rotating assembly [all cast]
Mahle forged Pistons +16cc
Comp xfi268 camshaft
58cc aluminum L98 heads [going to port them, add bigger valves and other goodies]
I got the low compression pistons, so its basically dying for some sort of power adder, I was thinking about adding a single turbo, but am unsure which turbo to go with, I want something streetable.
If I need to run the motor without any boost, will my Compression Ratio be fine, or will it be too low?
I have a Big block TBI unit that I was planning on using, will that be good enough?

You need way more fuel than that TBI injector setup can provide. The injectors become the problem when wanting to boost TBI setups. You need to add more injectors usually, but going to MPFI fuel pressure may be an option for you.
Ive got dynamic efi EBL Flash set up now.
If im not mistaken it can be converted to run TPI?
Wouldent adding a 4bbl TBI be the easiest option though?
Im just unsure what the hp limit on the holley 4bbl is.
I've been looking at those 4bbl TBI's, for the simple reason that for guys who already have combos that work great with a carb, but would like the benefits of EFI it's just like swapping the carb, their well performing intake remains in place.
However, for $900+ it's a whole lot of money for a throttle body and injectors.
I'm a little torn right now on what I want to do for my motor.
I'm very interested in the same topic because my brother-in-law would like to do the same thing to his TBI 4x4.....
Now at what Hp level is the TBI fuel injectors the limiting factor in stock form????
He was thinking of a 250 Hp goal, as that would be alot better than he already has......heheh
There's just sooooo much room under that hood to not want a turbo under it!!!!
Any help is appreciated

there is definetly a lot, more viable options than a turbocharger to make a tbi vehicle 250 hp........
Very True....... I've already talked to him about building a cheap 350.
Turning 33" tires on a lifted full-sized truck can be a difficult thing to do I guess, Especially when it's an anemic 305 in the first place.
Just throwing the Turbo idea around though...... could always make more than 250 Hp when he wanted too...
Modified SBC manifolds= Free
Cold side piping= almost free
Ebay BOV= <$50.oo
Ebay Turbo=<$350
I know that was rather simplistic but we're just thowing the idea around for the sake of conversation here....

The ebay sellers were doing a best offer earlier this year. You could get a China GT45 for $280 shipped. I think when things fall apart after Christmas they might start selling them cheaper again.
I did my truck twin setup for about $1200:
stock 1986 305ci TPI
Two used T3 50 trims (250HP each) for $50 each (another $50 each for rebuild kit, all they really needed was exh. seals)
exh. manifolds (free - I modified my stock TPI)
32"x"12"x4" Griffin Inercooler ($250)
oil in & out lines (1/4" steel, -12AN braided)
Ford 30#/hr injectors new
dual 2.25" with Dynomax 3.0" turbo mufflers (flow 250HP each, as quiet or quieter than stock)
Water/Alky injection
Air cleaners
cold pipe & couplers (2.5")
downpipes (2.5")
Makes full boost (9 PSI) at 2500 RPM. At 9 PSI it makes around 360 FWHP. The torque is really why I went with the turbo setup. It makes around 450 - 500 ft/lbs near 2500 - 3000 RPM. Great for a truck with a 305ci.
Everything came out to around $1200 without the water/alky setup.
