ntirous works TPI plate with NOS Powershot solenoids?
All,
I have an older NOS Powershot 125hp plate kit for a Holley 4 barrel. The solenoids are in good condition and seem to work fine on the bench. I have since upgraded to an HSR, so obviously my nitrous kit won't work.
Re: ntirous works TPI plate with NOS Powershot solenoids?
it will work.
if your checking your solenoids put NOS to them, and let it sit for 5 min.
see if you get frost anyplase, frost = leak.. from dirt/dust/sitting.
the Nos leaking anyplace that it can get into your intake is the backfire King...
this is only a prob when you let the bottle sit open, set to run, and you leav it there,.. always shut the bottles down, when your not using them.
and if you have a purge. use it, to take the presher off..when done..
Re: ntirous works TPI plate with NOS Powershot solenoids?
Thanks for the tips, I'll check for leaks when I get it all together. Not really planning on running a purge right now.
As for taking the pressure off without a purge, I could close the bottle valve first, and then with the engine running, I could tap the button once or twice (giving me a rich stumble, I'm sure) and that should sufficiently remove the pressure? I'm talking about once I'm gonna leave the track and head home.

Horrible idea. Running rich can be just as bad if not worse than running lean. If you want to dump the pressure just loosen the line from the bottle.

it takes less then a tap on the Button to let the presher out..
sky will not fall..
starting your car up to drive it to work, is harder on it then tapping the Button.
this is why i use a purge Kit... takes all the work out of it.
all you need to Buy is 1 SMALL solenoid. dont need to buy a kit.
just a solenoid and a T fitting.. switch & wire it up to a button..

Just keep in mind. With the pissant little shot you are running combine that with 1000+ psi bottle pressure and the length of line you are have. It is going to take more than "just a tap" to empty the line. I do agree with him with the purge kit tho. If you are going to do it, why not do it right?
But do what you want, it's your car.
Re: ntirous works TPI plate with NOS Powershot solenoids?
in any case.. you dont want it leaking into your intake when it's not running.. IF IT LEAKS AT ALL!
the only time iv seen them leak.
is when guys mess with them. or the parts are used up/dirty from sitting.
if it's dirty.. its a easy fix.. they also sell Kits to redo them..
you would not think Guys would just let the things set with 900+ psi in the lines for Hrs.(but they do). that could be a roll of the Dice... on start up you would fined out right away.. if it was leaking
i run a guage so i know whats in my line.
(i run a full on sports men Fogger)and have for years.. in this new redo i will have to go in and out of every part.. to make sure it works 110% right
no Leakes.. mine are easy to see.. it frost Right Up... pull coil wire and turn over for a 10 to 15 sec.. your fine..
