Better for turbocharging - pre 89 TPI w/MAF or post 89 w/speed density?
As I've started to collect the parts to convert my B&M blown Z28 to twin turbos, I'm thinking of putting on a TPI system. Would the later speed density setups be better than the earlier MAF systems? What about the programming to handle 15 psi of boost, would one be easier than the other? Eventually, I'll probably put DFI on it anyways, but in the mean time I still want it to be driveable and tuneable.
If you know how to burn your own chips, I'd defentaly sat go with SD. It would be a real pain in the butt to try and run twin turbos through a MAF sensor. Good Luck, with your project.

Speed Denisty is the way to go as the MAF system can be maxed with a good 350. Also it is a restriction and one more thing to work around. I am using a '749 ECM from a Sunbird Turbo and using a modded chip running $58 Syclone code with a repinned factory harness. It is the best way using a factory ECM to control boost and fuel inrichment. A '165 MAF ECM is'nt set up to add fuel with boost, hence having to use a FMU to increase fuel e.g. most supercharged set-ups. There a other ways, this is just the route I felt would serve my setup best. cheers, Bob
