Problems / Help / Suggestions / Comments Let us know if you're having any problems with the site or board software. Post any ideas you might have for ThirdGen.Org here.
i've seen a lot of problems posted here, and i thought it might be nice to focus on TGO's greater aspects. while i have been trying to remedy my cavalier's 15 MPG i thought i should look on a jbody message board and get some help. i didn't even bother signing up for their site after reading some of the users posts. i mean c'mon, is it really so hard to figure out how to use seafoam that you have to make a post and everybody can respond with the same information? terribly complicated, i know. and as i was looking at a few double posts i realized something. TGO is WAY WAY WAY MORE ORGANIZED! we generally search before deciding to post a new thread. i don't know why us newbies tend to have more common sense than those experienced jbody enthusiasts but i'm glad we do.
i have to put in a good word about our moderators too. they watch over everyone for tech problems and BS that other sites don't even care about. i mean, this site runs smoothly because these guys really love 3rd gens.
so lets all be glad our cars naturally look good, and almost all of us have some pretty good taste.
You've only been on here for 8 months. What will you say in 5 years? 10 years?
Every other post will seem like it's been answered 1000 times before, and Members who post the answer, post with a link after searching. Something the Newbie coulda/shoulda done to begin with.

I would have to agree with chevyracing, this site is great. I've been a member for a while and it's awesome to be able to see what other people are doing throughout the years. I hear people say that this site is going downhill but take a look at when the most users online was:
Most users ever online was 1,630, 03-10-2008 at 10:13 PM.
Proof is in the numbers they say.
Going downhill? I've been a TGO member for just over 2 years, and I'd say it is getting better all the time. And you can't really blame newbs for asking questions before searching. It's all in being a newb. I did the same thing for a little while. And the LAST thing you want to do is to run off a newb by being rude to them. We need all the third-gen enthusiasts we can get.

Agreed. I used to get annoyed when newbie's would ask questions that were answered years ago, but then I figured hey, we were all there at one point or another, so I just respond now. Not to mention, I'd rather answer a newbie's old question in a new thread, as opposed to seeing old threads from the early 2000's being revived repeatedly from the newbie's searching them out and not realizing how old they are to begin with lol....

stephen, nice name, its mine too. i understand your point of view. i dont really have the experience to say i've put up with the pains of being a member. but i don't think many people realize how good we have it on TGO. thats really the point i'm trying to get at.
