I didn't respond right away because honestly it was pretty new to me and I'm still waiting information on this. It appears to me that it's advertisement that also is aimed on informing members of products. I believe this is somewhat new to us, so I'm not sure about future usage, but I hope to have some more information, later.

Yep, I agree. It pisses me off because many have nothing whatsoever to do with a thirdgen. Now we have ads popping up right in the middle of the thread. We create the content with our knowledge, they reap the rewards.

Lon
Lon,

You being around for some time, you know how this happened. You cannot really blame any single point. Dirk, the original owner/founder, sold to company A who then sold to company B. Businesses, in general, are out to make a profit.

I've got a challenge for you or anyone that doesn't like the non-thirdgen content. While I cannot guarantee results since I'm not involved with the advertisement department, I think this can only help the issue you are not pleased with. And that is, find us leads on "thirdgen content" that would be interested in advertising on ThirdGen - and ads that you rather see.

As I said, I cannot guarantee results since I'm not involved with the advertisements, but finding "thirdgen content", I'm sure, can only help minimize those ads that aren't thirdgen content.

With ThirdGen's not being supplied anymore, and the "pool" only decreasing because of that, you do have to have some understanding that the resources aren't there like they are for like the Corvette - a vehicle still in production.

By the way, Lon, what do you mean you have ads popping right up in the middle of the thread? Can you provide a screen capture? I'm not aware of this being a feature - unless it is when you're viewing the forums while logged out.
