2.8 idler / smog delete pulley.
Looking for a 2.8 serpentine idler pulley that goes in place of a smog pump. Let me know your price shipped to 08527 thanks in advance.

You don't need one. I'm assuming you're putting this on your 92 as in your info since the others SHOULD be V-belt systems. All you need to do is yank the pump and associated parts and install a shorter belt.

Yes this is for my 92. I am running a belt for an 88 camaro without smog(day I not sure of part number) and the belt flaps around where the smog pump was. Even though it does not seem to cause any problems I would rather have the belt under the proper tension.

What belt are you running? Should interchange with either an 815K6 or 915K6 depending on whether you have air conditioning or not.
GM themselves didn't use an idler pulley on V6 engines without that AIR junk. Yes, the belt does have a long run there, but a delete pulley is a waste of money and just another pulley bearing that will eventually fail.

I'm not sure on the part # I would have to check tomorrow. I know I need the pulley because I used to have one from an 89 jy firebird. But long story short the bracket broke and now I don't have it. From that point on the belt flaps around a little.

back to the top with this. The bearing in the pulley I bought just started to go and sounds horrid.

Again... Don't use one. Delete the brackets and everything and save the headaches...

Re: 2.8 idler / smog delete pulley.
I actually just ordered the 915k6 last night so hopefully that solves my problems for good. I was determined to use the pulley as I have 3 new belts that are supposed to be for a non smog 88 Camaro ( long story) and are too long to use without it.
