2005 Fall Brawl T-shirts ???

In the original post about the 2005 Fall Brawl, I mentioned about getting t-shirts made. To date, only one person has expressed any interest in them, so I have not persued the idea.

Since I do not have any computer skills to speak of, unless somebody jumps in and does up some fancy artwork, they would be somewhat plain by comparison to some shirts U see nowadays. Some fancy lettering and some thirdgen pics would probably be what the shirt would be.

BUT, it would be a one of a kind t-shirt!

Is anybody interested in this?

I do not have the money to bankroll this deal, so if U are interested, they would need to be paid for in advance!

Let me know!!!

I'll see if I can come up with something for a design, don't know who else would go for it though.

I think it'd be cool to take a picture collage of all of the cars that show and screen them onto a shirt. This way we don't run into any legal issues because the pictures belong to us.

Yeah - you'd get the shirt after the brawl, but it'd be worth it.

3rd gen only?

I have a few "drawings" that I've done on the computer. I'll try and put something together.

Here's a rough draft... Thoughts?

These are all drawings. Outline artwork is cheaper to print and set up, as you can change the color to go onto any color t-shirt.

damn, I like that. I'll throw some color onto it and see what everyone thinks. I've got another idea that I haven't had a chance to draw up yet, I'll try and get that finished up and post it as well.

Those are really cool drawings! I had forgotten about U doing those, but now that I see them, I remember U telling me about them at the Spring Fling.

Since a black shirt always seems to be the most popular color shirt (does not show dirt/stains over a period of time) as easy for stuff like this, U think that would that be a good color for the 2005 Fall Brawl shirt--or should we go with a different color?

Hey Chris....U don't happen to have any charactchure (wish I knew how to spell that word!) or some at speed or with the front wheels up in the air, do U? Thinking of maybe using both the standing still sketches and others ?

I'm for black. Should we think about a "logo" up front or just print this on the backs?

I haven't done any moving cars or caricatures to date, but could. Each car took about 13-15 hours to draw. If I had a picture to work from that would help.

I like the black shirt, any contrasting color for artwork. Large image on back, small logo left chest.

Although I am not up on current prices because I have not had any made for a few years, I know that doing both sides is more expensive.

Then again, these are not being done to sell at a profit either. Just for our own personal consumption (excellent with buter and cinnamon---oh wait, I was thinking about breakfast!.......never mind--LOL)

My original thoughts were doing big fancy lettering and pics on the front only. I kinda like the small logoon the front with everything on the back too. There are a bunch of different ways we could go with it.

Would definately like to hear more on that subject!!

Different ideas of subject to include or not include???

2005 FALL BRAWL
Presented by the Houston Area Thirdgen.org
Pics of the 2 different drawings
maybe the dates and events of the Houston Fastest Thirdgen
dates and events of the Sat Meet/BBq/Cruise
????????????????????????????????????????

Was also going to go look around at the Thirdgen.org "T-shirt Idea board" board. Might be something there we can use!

Maybe we could do the drawing on the front of the shirt and have like a list of names on the back with an outline of something behind the list?

Just a thought.

But I LOVE the drawing. I'd go for it on a black shirt. Or white. Whatever floats the boat.

You're a darn good artist, Chris. That's for sure.

I'm planning on going to talk to the 2 different t-shirt shops I have used before, by the end of the week and see what's up. I did check and they are still up and running, so that's a good sign.

Can't answer that yet--have not been to the t-shirt shops yet.

I had no intention of selling for a profit, because I DO NOT have the money to bankroll this deal. Once I go I will find out prices and i will let U guys know, and if u want one I'm gonna need some bucks quick.

If somebody want to bankroll this project, we might be able to get better graphics, bette shirts, but the shirts would assuridly cost more.

Let me know the price and all that good stuff or how much you will need from me and I'll write up and mail you a check, Zap. Or whoever's in charge of getting the shirts printed up.

OK--went to the t-shirt shop. Here's the info--including the art/color charges, based on getting about 2 dozen shirts.

A single sided/multicolor artwork shirt is going to run about 11.50 to 12.00 each

A double sided/multicolor artwork shirt is going to run about 14.00 to 14.50 each

double xl and larger are 2.00 more

THE ORDER HAS TO BE IN MONDAY MORNING AT THE VERY LATEST! Even though the deadline is Mon. morn, I would like to go do this Saturday, so I don't have to take off even more time from work!

So, if U want one U need to speak up now!!! At the moment, from going back through the list we have:
1 small
3 med
5 large
5 XL
1 XXL
1 XXXL

I was going to get maybe 1 extra M and 2 or 3 L and XL's.

We need to choose black or athletic gray. Any color is available, but those are by far the more popular. I think white is a nogo because they show dirt so easy, and car people and white shirts usually DO NOT go together. IMO, black shirts look better but they are hotter in the summer. Gray is always cooler in the sun.
--------------------------------------------------------

At the moment, the artwork I have put together is:
1sided

2005 FALL BRAWL at top of shirt/big fancy letters

The Texas insignia that Chris threw out here, without the camaro or firebird emblems in place,as a back ground, with a thirdgen logo I found on the t-shirt board, lais across it in the bolderprint/ink.
http://thirdgen.org/techbb2/attachme...&postid=496980

Below that, the 2 drawings of the Camaro and Firebird that Chris did, as a background, with the following laid across in small, but bold print/ink.

FRI NIGHT NOV. 25 2005: FASTEST HOUSTON THIRDGENNER
Houston Raceway Park

SAT NOV. 26 2005: ANNUAL FALL/WINTER MEET--BBQ-- CRUISE
Bear Creek Park

--------------------------------------------------
2 sided
front

2005 FALL BRAW at top of shirt/big fancy letters

The same Texas insignia that Chris threw out here, without the camaro or firebird emblems in place,as a back ground, with a thirdgen logo I found on the t-shirt board, lais across it in the bolderprint/ink.
http://thirdgen.org/techbb2/attachme...&postid=496980

(Just a lot larger than one sided version)

back)

2005 FALL BRAW at top of shirt/big fancy letters

The 2 drawings of the Camaro and Firebird that Chris did, as a background, with the following laid across in small, but larger bold print.

FRI NIGHT NOV. 25 2005: FASTEST HOUSTON THIRDGENNER
Houston Raceway Park (Baytown)-- 1/4 mile dragstrip
Test-n-tune runs!
Grudge matches!
Performance awards

SAT NOV. 26 2005: ANNUAL FALL/WINTER MEET--BBQ-- CRUISE
Bear Creek Park Pavillion #1
1 pm-- Meet
3 pm-- BBQ The Infamous "BURNING OF THE DOGS"
5 pm-- Appearance Awards presentation
6 pm-- Mass Cruise To Sam's Club Sat night Car show
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

WE NEED TO DECEIDE 2 THINGS HERE!

1. black or gray

2. 1 sided or 2 sided

We don't have time to get into discussions here about designs--if U wanted some input, U should have spoke up when U had the chance! Even though the deadline is Mon. morn, I would like to go do this Saturday, so I don't have to take off even more time from work!

IF U HAVE NOT ORDERED YOUR SHIRT YET, BETTER BE QUICK ABOUT IT!

I am planning on going to the ARD modding party Sat after I stop by the t-shirt shop. If U are going to be there PLEASE have some money for your shirt. I do NOT have the money to bankroll this project.

I have spent a large amount of time and effort, as well as taken time off from work and put into this whole Fall Brawl project, and I just can't devote any more time, effort or money to it!!!

If I do not get enough input here about all this stuff, I will make the final decisions myself and the shirt will be what it is! SPEAK UP NOW!!!

Right now, I am leaning towards the single sided gray!

I like the idea of a two sided black t-shirt, but any way it goes I think these shirts are going to be awesome. I will do my best to make it to the modding party and get the money to you tomorrow ZAP. Good Job orginizing this thing man, I think the designs/ideas look great.

Yeah I do, but let me place the order first and get an exact amount, before we do that. I probably will not pick up shirts until Fri (day after T-day).

If I ccan get the money for some of them, where I don'y have to cover 100%, I probably got it covered.

As of Sat morn, I am now thinking black/ 1 sided, since the next 5/6 months will be cool weather

If we do shirts for the Spring Fling, it may be better for that one, if we do gray--figure that out when ime comes.

I hooked up with the T-shirt shop this morning. Went with 1 sided black shirts.

Even though it was not anywhere near finished art work, he showed me kinda what it would look. I think it's gonna be pretty cool! (but I'm prejudice)

I ordered extra:
1-M
2-L
4-XL

over what has been ordered through this thread and the couple additional orders I took while at the modding party at ARD Sat.

If U want to go ahead and order one, I can add to the order until noon Wed!

Here's a early copy of artwork. Couple of correction/changes:

1. Center the very bottom lines of info

2. Outline the checkered flags since the black part of the flags blend in with the black shirt.

3. Slightly reduce the size of "2005"

What do U think?
