Check that purple road race car when it says "and 7 seconds..." and then switches to "its road raced." I Love how that older TA looks with that widebody and large tires.

Yeah, $25/year is good. "*City* Thirdgen" is used pretty much everywhere. Thirdgens of San Antonio(TGSA), or San Antonio Third Gen Organization(SAT-GO), San Antonio 3rd Gen Organization(SA3GO). I think San Antonio 3rd Gen Organization(SA3GO) is my favorite, so I vote for that. I guess treasurer wouldn't be too hard. I'll open up a seperate account at USAA and whatever is made i'll dump into that account. My friend is pretty good with photoshop, you think we should take a group photo and make a logo like that? Or just find some stuff off the net to use??

What time are you guys thinking? We have to coordinate as a group, since most of us have to work friday nights, we try to arrange the meets around the schedules. I'm glad there are others here in SA that are getting together, ive been trying to do this for awhile. The pig stand is near Sams Burger Joint right?

Does that sleek black iroc have the chrome iroc wheels?? and the maroon iroc with silver gfx have radials on the back??? I think i've seen you all at the track, I had gone with San Antonio Fbody. I drive the gray firebird with the white Ram Air Hood. You know RAM(88' GTA)??
You guys work Friday night?? Usually I do but I happen to work in the morning this friday, maybe we can meet up out there??
Next are the brakes and subframe connectors. I am going to go shop around for some prices for tapping the spindles and enlarging the holes in the brackets tomorrow. Wanna flip your car upside down so we can test fit some round seemless tubing for the connectors? Hmmm maybe at the hobby shop ...
In a month or two, with my friend moving here, I should have a lot of work to do to my car so if any of you have a garage or place to work on your car that I could use that'd be awesome. And actually, i've never been to the garage on base, how is it? Do they have tools? How long can you stay there? Isn't it free?
The first thing I want to do is engine rebuild with forged internals, and then take care of the brakes, make it easier to stop. Then SFC so I don't have those stress cracks that we all have and I was showing you guys at the corner of the windows. Then paint. And then a secret weapon I cannot post on this board as someone may be reading. PREPARE TO BE LEFT IN THE DUST MIKE, YOUR LS1 WON'T HANG(what? you don't have an LS1?? let alone in your car??? haa. your in some trouble.)

the auto skills shop does charge daily bro and it does charge to use the tools to keep car in the bay is more expensive than leaving it outside so before u pull the motor have the cash ready and parts so you can change it out with in a week depending what your going to do and money and what you need to change out if ur going extreme so think about what your going to do lots of people jump into it and run out of money half way through so if you want ill go over with u what u need so we can get the car in and out quick

sounds like you have ur work cut out for u man, lots of bolt turning,
I hate that part but we got to do it if we want the horse power anyways ill be there on friday wish i could get a paint job but few things just holding me back plus my headliner but my cars coming along ok hope to see u guys and see whats up well laterz
I was driving home today from work and i got a code 34, the car started bogging and the RPM's were all over the place. I was hoping the tranny fluid had not hurt the sensor, but now im thinking that it was affected too. When we had the scanner hooked up to your car Anthony i forgot to check the GPS airflow on your MAF to make sure it wasnt your MAF. I found that radiator Jim, i had it in a box but forgot where it was. BTW thats one nice GTA, i think my bud is saving his pennies to rebuild his Stealth engine, but i will let him know.

actually, what I was thinking of doing was getting another v6 engine and doing the rebuild on that, then when im ready, i'll just swap engines. that way i can keep my car on the road and it'll take a day or two to complete the swap. I could definetly use your knowledge as to what all I need. And since im going either with just pistons, heads, and cam, or going all the way with newer better forged internals, I don't really know what all I need. Never ripped an engine apart before.
Good idea Jim, those V6 MPFI engines are a dime a dozen at the picknpull. Thats how i do modifications to my car lately. Pull a used part, modify it and put it on the car, if it doesnt work i can pull it and put the original part back on the car.
well 34 you know what that is and yea pick n pull is a good place to get parts if your going to replace the engine with another go with the 89 turbo set up i mean why not just go all the way if your staying with the V6 set up just my ;2 cents
The 89 Turbo is much harder to find than the engine I have right now in my car. Besides, it'll just drop right in. That'd be cool to have that Buick turbo motor in there though. What I really need to find at that pick-n-pull is a 3.1L - 5speed setup. Only problem is that I have nowhere to work on that engine. And actually once I get it all cleaned up and ready to add parts, i'll just put it on an engine stand in my living room perfect decoration. When it's ready to go in, i'll just take a pallet from my work and put it in the bed of a truck and im ready for the swap.
good get together tonight guys hope tommorrow will turn out even better at the stand hey and bennigans is pretty tight lots of diffrent car familys there we need more thirdgens to come around its like were extinct man nothing but jap cars with lots of sound and go 0-60 in 4min maybe next time we roll in deep but thats my 2 cent on the night had a great time well till tommorrow laterz
nothing but... cars with lots of sound and go 0-60 in 4min maybe
LOL
I can feel that there is not enough lift on my cam, after listening to your TPI setup. It needs to let more air in, since its got a short stroke and little valves. Either that or some nice heads that flow better. 1.6 ratio rockers on the list of goodie parts. Kudos to Jim on the seafoam.
Anthony check this website out for miniram dyno data compareing TPI,vs MINIRAM,vs,STEALTHRAM - HybridZ
Good stuff right?? I wonder how the tranny seafoam works. Didn't know they made stuff for trannys too. See you guys out there at around 6!
Hey Anthony, bring some of those flyers, i'd like to see them.

Jim and Anthony
I need to talk to you about this club we want to start. My best friend is really hurt that i didnt invite him to be in the club, and he considers me to be his brother. If you knew us better, im sure you would understand.
I have a few other friends that will be hurt too, and it all hinges on the fact that its a camaro/firebird thing. I know everyone has their own opinion on what a club should be, but he told me that they wouldnt let him go to the Pigstand because he drives a Dodge Stealth, and its "not an american car". I know what it feels like to be an outsider with other groups, and i dont like it one bit. The whole reason i thought it would be a good idea to do this, is because i know how the 4th geners treat the "other" generations. I will try to contact you all before i head out there, and im pissed that they are that way at the Pigstand. I need to give this some thought, because i dont want to ostracise anyone.
Brian
Well I can understand from what I saw last night so I dont mind at all but I think if were going to go throgh with this then the camero/firebird is primary cars then we can sub-club to others like the stealth and what ever car there is that want to join. the thing is this if we do something like this then we have to be together on the dicision k ill back u brian but we need to figure out what route were going to take with the club is it going to still be third gen and sub others or are we talking about change and forget what those other d#$ks say its our thing not theres were the only one getting this together so far no one else has been to our little get together well hope to see u tonight
our little group(me and my freinds) arent just thirdgenners or whatever, we enjoy all types of cars that can go fast. dont limit your sights to just one style of a car, any car buetiful, fast or outright bad *** is welcome with us
I am glad i have your support, I thought about actually quitting everything today. I don't like to have pressure between my friends and the interests, and you guys are some of the coolest dudes i have met. Its rare that people can just get together and get in sync so well. I dont really care what everyone else is doing, because we are doing our own thing. Its the same way with music, you get people together that jive well and the music comes by itself.
it was a great time tonight hopefully we can keep it up as for other than thirdgen well its what ever to me like i said lucid so in that case we can move foward every one is cool and we can go far i see so lets keep it that way hey so whats up with tomorrow lets do somethig during the day bbq anyone up for it like at lets say 12 or 2 pm

nope cant do that, i wrok all day every weekend:/ hpefully a new job will come around for me and i can leave that hellhole lol, but jsut for me 2 know who was everybody and what color car were u driving? o and i was the one in the f150 that vanished after sonic(got lost from the group and freind had my cell phone)
hey lets get an impromtu get together tonight i want to post it up on the san antonio f-body association web site maybe we can get something going again what do u guys think any place good for tonight
Depends what it is. Patty wants to spend more time together, last night doesn't count . Sitting around and talking at the show was cool for her but she says "Whats the point of trying to keep up with people who are twice as fast as you are?".............................................guess she has a point there...time to UPGRADE!!!!!!
man look ur going to get there its just the funds and equipment plus now u have peolpe with lots of experiance and ur good to go. anyways i called that guy john from last night the one with the white and orange strips he said that andy and some others are thinking about a cruise later tonight just so we can get stuff happening and hang together I told him imm in so thats 6 cars if u and brian meet up thats 2 more but i understand if ur girl wants time for u all selves if anything give me a call to stay posted k laterz
Definetly the funds and equipment. I should have the funds soon. And am still undecided as to what I want to stick in there. A worked V6 just won't satisfy me. After hearing the v8's rumble last night...i'm just going to swap in a v8. Althought that LT1 was pretty cool, but I don't think i'd want an LT1. Either a carbed 350(or bigger ), or an LS1. The LS1 would cost a lot more but i'll probably be more satisfied with that being they get 28 miles to the gallon. I figure I can get an engine and tranny for $2-3000...take me around $5000 to do the entire swap plus some mods. See if I can have it done before May(G11). If I could find a donor car that would be awesome. And make the swap much easier. This is a lot of talk...now watch it happen.
V8's are definitely fun, i must admit. I called anthony and couldnt get a hold of him, whats going on tonight?
lol you need couples time jim, been there done that. Snuggling and cuddling and holding hands, awwww.

I don't know about all that man...tonight, nothing that I know of. I called anthony earlier but he was busy with something else and didn't know of anything going on. His other post says he called the guy with the white and orange z28, he said the other guys wanted to go out for another cruise/race thing. I"m sure those cars aren't their DD so I rather not kill mine trying to keep up. What do you think Brian? Carbed 350 or larger, if gas is really bad with it i'll have to get another car. Or LS1 which will be a lot more expensive but more efficient??
You guys been to hp salvage yet. It's off of 87 on atkins road. If your gonna swap, thats the guy to talk to. High Perfomance Salvage, inc. If you guys meet up let me know.
Jim I say if you are going to spend the money, buy what you want, otherwise you wont be happy. Personally, i would like to get 30mpg and an engine that can run the quarter mile in 13 seconds and handle like an Indy car...but thats just me. Did Anthony tell you about the Eclipse with nitrous? lol Keep in mind, a carbed car is more difficult to tune, has to warm up, and you are going to be tinkering/wrench turning a lot with it, but you can get a heck of a lot of power out of it. Theres nothing really limiting how much air you can suck it, and its crude but very effective. EFI cars can be tuned with chips, are more fuel efficient and you can just start them and drive off. They are more expensive however and a little bit more complex. Having said that, whichever one you choose it should make for a very nice firebird. My dad's iroc has a 4 barrel and it smokes the tires, i like the sound the carb makes when it sucks air into the engine. What kind of engine combo were you thinking about doing Jim? Im sure a 350 in that light firebird will really move.
Moninjars
I heard about that place before, had forgotten about it. We might have to do something tomorrow. Daniel is this you?
I will check yall tomorrow
Brian
nice post brian dam stealth ram is the way to go so thats my route and yes an eclipse kicked my azz but and he had nitruos so hahaha ok lol anyways jim which ever u do just do it and i dont like to race my car against them my car has some balls bbut just saggy ones right now until I get the stealth so oh well, waiting sucks but saving money priceless haaaaaaaa! call up see whats happening wasss happening
I do plan to spend the money on what I want. I decided last night LS1. It'll be a lot more expensive, but saving a little and taking a small loan out will get me an entire parts car. I'm going to have to find somewhere to keep this parts car as my apartment complex doesn't allow none registered and none working vehicles on the vacinity. How much does it cost to put it in storage?? Do they let you work on cars?? I doubt it. Well, i'll call you all sometimes today, probably after 3. I'm off today so im up for almost anything.
I just checked out that HP Performance place, pretty cool. I may have to go there for my engine, tranny, and various other parts. Plus it looks like they've done the swap quite a few times with other vehicles so their knowledge would help.

hey, if you decide you wnat to go a little cheaper and mabye carbuerated or TPI i have a motor out of a blazer 4x4 that needs a rebuild job but all in all its stock, so you can bore it and everything, it would be a great platform for a good powered motor, being 4x4 i think it may be 4 blt main but im not sure, i have heads, block, pan, timing chain cam crank pistons rods, pretty much the whole motor, with a TBI intake. ill let it go for $125 and will help deliver it somewhere if u want, gimme a call (210)347-5404
or if anyone else wants it also

According to the LMP/Sealy web site (when U click on the location link) the complex is 120 miles from SA. Everybody is welcome. I hope some of U can make it!
