Custom Sounds does the best job IMO on the window tint, i am going to go back when i get the window moulding fixed so they can redo the tint. I am working on the webpage and i edited that image you posted Jim, for the background. I drooled over it a little since it looked pretty good. I am looking for some good pics of us together that i can use for a group picture. If you can get that chevy image, that would be cool too Jim, we can definitely use that.
Business cards we can probably print ourselves. I probably will work on this website more during class, and i will show you guys soon. Let me know if you guys run across any free message board PHP scripts that we can configure.
BTW i was at another JY today and i ran across a 2000 Camaro Z28. Dude wanted $2000 for the LS1 engine, $2500 for the engine tranny and harness. Looks like you would need to get your own MAF though, the front end is totally smashed on it. $100 for LS1 calipers, carriers and rotors each end, tried to get him to come down on the price, but he wouldnt budge.
Hey brian what about the seats are they leather or did he sell them already ive been trying to call u today but oh well. Hey matt how you been keeping that formula nice and clean i hope well hope to see u soon. well laterzzzz!!!!
Car is wrecked, front end, no seats. Impact was up front on the left, pushed the radiator almost into the engine. The JY is over there on New Laredo highway, after southcross...its an import place, i think its called A-1 imports or something, across the street from Nogalitos Gear.
Hey just set this up on myspace MySpace.com For the website Matt's firebird and Dainel's camaro.
Any one intrested saturday night 7 pm at bufflo wild wings in liveoak safbody meet its mostly 4th gens everone is invited and on sunday the meet at bracken ridge park with DVS performance
Hey i Thought so too im going to call him just to make sure by the way is anyone showing up to the pig stand friday just asking I dont want to be the only one there laterzzzz!!!!!
dang dude u cant make it to the pig stand oh well we will probably head out to biffs afterwards anyways hey brian so what u going to do tommorrow are u going ot get a new distributer or just the coil hey by the way r u ready for the party on saturday the one daniel is throwing well laterzzz!!!!
I am sure i fried the ignition module and probably the pickup coil too. If i could figure out how to pull the distributor and reinstall it, then i would just yank it and put new parts in. This distributor has to be special ordered from anywhere. I am pissed at myself for making such a stupid mistake.
I can bring my dads IROC out i think, or the mustang lol. We put seafoam in my friends Stealth, and he said it hasnt run that good since he first bought it.
dang thomas what you do just plaing well hope u get it fixed bro its a strong and ready to rumble. Hey brian u cant just pick up a msd distributor and drop that in it might just cost the same as a stock one from the dealer
Brian, are you running tuned port or throttle body, I have a dizzy for a tpi set up if your intrested. or get the module and a pick up coil thats what i have done with mine, or after market reman for around 150 i think from o'rilles
Thomas, damn i asked everyone i knew if they had an extra dizzy lol. I have a TPI setup man, i pulled the ignition module and it failed testing at AZ. I noticed the capacitor had a wire that pulled out of the connector too, so i am hoping that was just it.
When i changed out the ignition coil with the 50,000v coil from summit, i put the conductor/spring in the cap, then the isolating washer, and then i put the ignition coil in on top. Is that the correct order?
How much are you asking for the dizzy anyhow? Mine has a coil right on top of the distributor, the internal design. I am going to try to get this to run, if i doesnt i made need to hit you up on that dizzy, since the pickup coil will have probably gone bad.
Hi all San Antonio third gen owners. I am new here mostly just read posts for info. i have had 2 third gens so far an 89 camaro and now a 92 rs that i will restore little bit at a time. I am actually looking to start a club have a logo almost done need a name though.

Keep checking the boards, i think they are going to be there almost all day but i am not sure. I will call Daniel in the morning and find out, and post as soon as i know. Hey guys when did yall meet last time at Brack?
At Espada park at 2:00pm if any one is interested. I was wrong it isn't going to be at bracken ridge park. prolly bring your own drinks I think that there will be bar B/Q there.
I have a 92 Z28 that I have been working on. I have a 6.0L with a 6 speed in the garage that needs to be installed. For now I have a 305 5 speed that will be up for grabs after the engine install.
Where is the park located at. I might try to come through but I just put a hood on my car that needs to be finished up before i can drive it. Anyway shoot me the directions and I will see if I can make it.
I just talked to the mostest MC Crystal, and its going to be over at Espada park, it is located over there on the Southside of town on Military drive a couple miles inside of I-37S. If you know where the missions are at, its pretty close to them. She says they are heading out around 2pm, so pass the word.

How much for the 305 5 speed? TBI or TPI? I'll convert it over to carb and put it in my car for now, get the v6 to v8 swap out of the way till I can get my stroker.
I work 2-9 tonight so I won't be able to go. Probably not going to do anything until I get back from Florida.

Ok no one showed up to Espada, they are moving over to Brackenridge now, should be there around 430 myself. 393-0542
BTW i put in a new ignition module, and a new cap and rotor, along with the 50,000v coil in my car. Apparently the capacitor had a loose wire and thats what arced, i am thinking thats what happened. My baby is running again.
Good to hear Brian. So how did it go?? Sorry couldn't make it, had to work and let me tell ya, what a hard day to work when trying to recover from the night before.
It went pretty good, DVS performance was there. Anthony, Daniel, and my buddy Kris were there, and Daniel and Crystal showed up later on. We need to definitely get together at Brackenridge more often, or even OP Schnabel. Anthony said he will whip out his BBQ skillz that killz.
I had to take that 50,000v coil off, my engine just will not run right with it on. I think i need to upgrade my plug wires. My engine hasnt run right all day today, hopefully i didnt cause any internal damage.

I would be interested in the TPI parts (if it is one). Since you won't be using them maybe we can work somethig out...
The engine and trans is still in the car. The second gear grinds, but I still drive it like that. The car has over 170,000 miles I think. Car still runs good. I drove it from Dallas here with the messed up second gear and all, when I brought back from Belgium last December. I have not even came up with a price yet. I would be really flexible if I could find someone that knows how to do the LS1 swap, especially the wiring and if they are willing to help me do it then I would be willing to give an excellent deal on it.
I could not make it out on Sunday I was at church all day. Plus I would not have been able to find it anyway. Shoot me some directions to the hangouts during the week and I will see if I can come out to hang.
----------
Oh forgot it is a TPI.

I will be happy to help if I can...but the 200 mile commute means I won't be there very often.
I have never done an LSI swap, but I have done a lot of others..v6 to v8, carb to TPI,carb to TBI, TBI to carb, i4 to v6 (in a Chevette) and am now working on a custom 12 injector system for MY Camaro. Not to mention (almost) 25 years of experience tinkering with 3rd gens.
hey when ever you start tell me man i would like to check the swap out BTW I am going to have a barbecue at Bracknridge park this sunday on nov 6 ribs and drinks everyone that has a thirdgen needs to come out and participate hopefully were going to try to get this SA3GO club to take flight and everyone on this thread needs to support PLEASE 100% participation the barbecue will be in the same spot as the last time they had a get together there by the baseball field if you need directions call on of the guys on the thread we all have our numbers out here brack is located off of broadway and josephin st or st marys exit if your on 281 north off of 35north if this dosent help mapquest it or call like I said hope to see all the thirdgeners here out there and spread the word around. every one is invited who wants to support the san antonio thirdgeners org and hope to see you all out there its going to start at 12:00 afternoon so no one missis any important games welll hope to see you all out there LATERZZZZ!!!!!!
I will try to definetely get there on Sunday. I know I will be late because I want get out of church until about 1:30 or so.
As far as the swap goes anyone is welcome to come help and check it out. But I would like to have at least 1 subject matter expert who has done it before to take the lead. If I can't find anyone I guess I will have to scrape up the money and take it to the shop.
urslo, I think with every ones knowledge and the internet as refrence we can manage to figure this out. not to sure if I can make it sunday though, which sucks because if there is gonna be a good showing then I would want to be there.
hpsalvage deals in high performance gm parts, LSX parts harnesses, transmissions High Perfomance Salvage, inc.
They sell all the components you will need to put it together.
The parts are not the problem it is the know how that is the problem. I have the engine and trans, and getting the motor mounts and transmission crossmember is easy. I know my mechanical limitations and trying to do this swap on my own is well above my knowledge level.
well come out on sunday to see whats up Im sure there will be people out there that know how to do this swap. Im just hoping its not going to rain out that day I already bought all the RIBS and Steaks to do this barbecue I just need so cash to get the plates and utensils and drinks the Meat just about broke me but oh well this is going to be for the thirdgeners here so here goes a hell of a try lol well hope to see you all out there LATERZZZZ!!!!!!!
urslo, i'll definetly help you, really you just need to take this as any other swap. I'm sure you've read up on this swap, you know what modifications you need to make in order for everything to fit...if you get stuck anywhere just refer back to this site. It may take some time to do it, but atleast you'll be doing it correctly. Also HP salvage can tell you a few things to help your know how. What are you mechanical limitations by the way? Have you ever done a swap? Removed an engine? Tranny?
CharcoalBird, thanks for offering assistance. I have pretty much everything I can find about doing the swap. I have never did any kind of engine swap before so this will be totally new to me. I think the big thing that is going to cause trouble is the wiring and running the fuel lines. Pulling the old egine and dropping in the new engine should not be that bad.
urslo, do you have a wiring harness with ecm and all? Or are you going with something like painless wiring? If the harness you have is all marked to what wire is what it shouldn't be too bad.
CharcoalBird, I have the pcm and wiring harness for the engine. I am not sure if it is labeled or not.
I have another question for the guys with fiberglass hoods or aftermarket hoods. I put the big block hood on my car but I can't get it to latch. The hood looks like it is all the way down but it is not far enough down to latch the hood. Just wanted to see if anyone else had this problem.
I got the Ram Air II hood and it took some adjusting to get it to shut. I had to shift the latch about a half inch over to the left and then put spacers on the bar that latches down. I can help you with that too if you need.
You said the fuel lines are going to give you trouble, but like in how, running them from the tank and hooking them up is that what you mean. Im just asking cause thomas ran his diffrent on his engine set up. I wonder if its any diffrent running them for the LS1
CharcoalBird, yea that is the problem I need to find some kind of spacers to get the bar to be low enough to lock in place. I also have to work on the alignment of the hood it has a huge gap on one side and it is real tight on the other. I will try get to it sometime this week.
As far as the fuel lines. From what I have read you have to run something different with the fuel lines. I am not 100% sure on what needs to be done exactly. That is why I don't just want to do this swap on my own because it is just too much stuff that needs to be done. But once I get this hood straight I will be out and we can maybe get together and figure something out.
CharcoalBird, I am a little over 3k. That includes engine, pcm and harness, 6 speed trans and LS6 intake. I got the engine from a guy off of ebay. He is located here in SA so I just went to his house and bought it. Engine came out of an 02 Suburban. I got the harness and pcm from car-parts.com for 200. I got the LS6 intake from car-parts.com for 150. I bought my trans from a guy in SA for 1200. I still have to get the trans crossmember which will be a couple hundred. I am thinking about get a tublar K-member, and they are kinda pricey. I also need to update the rear. I want to get a 4th gen rear to put in so I can run my wheels without spacers. I kinda slowed down some because I just got my real estate license so I have been busy trying to get everything straight for that.
I am going to have to mess with that hood to try to get it right.
A little over 3k...that is cheap as hell. You got some deals there. Depending on how much it totals out to, I may actually consider going to LS1. I wanted to before but it would cost way more than just swapping in a carb'd 350 in there.
