I thought I would introduce myself. I own a Gunmetal Gray 89 Trans Am. It was originally a 305TBI car but now is a carbed 350. The block is from a Camaro SS and the heads are from a 72 Corvette LT1. I have headers and a custom exhaust. Doing some more work on it this summer to include changing the rear to a 3.42 posi and new wheels and tires in addition to redoing the interior.
I am going to be moving to Oklahoma later this year with my 89 TA. I would like to find out a bit more about F-body activities in the area.
I would also like to know about getting on a Dyno somewhere around there. I know there are probably dynos in OK City and Dallas which arent too far.
Hate to tell you,But third gens are a joke around here in Oklahoma city. It's mostly 4th and 2nd gen country here the only F-body club is pretty much all 4Th Gen owners who refer our cars as "terd gens" hence one of the reasons I'm leaving this state soon Good luck in OKIE land
Well, I realize that they arent taken too seriously by some folks, but its not going to be too long before the 3rd gens are antiques just as the 2nds are - hope that somehow helps the popularity of them.
I just wont go riding around in one with a particular 80s hair style (got edited by the board - first time I ever saw that with one of my posts). LOL!!!!

welcome to oklahoma first off!!! where abouts in oklahoma are you going to be moving? the tulsa area has no major f-body clubs that i know off but im in a very decent car club called tulsa street scene... theres quiet a few of 3rd gens in there myself included but most of the time im the only one who drives it out there
Sorry its taken me a few days to get back here. Work has taken me away yet again (about to leave again for another week).
1. I love the KITT - that is freaking awesome!!!
2. I am going to be moving to Lawton. So far it seems like my best options might be somewhere around Dallas.
3. I just cant wait to be around real cars again - all these Euro cars I see every day get old. All of them are 4cylinder tiny go-carts with few exceptions.
4. I am going to be looking to do some other major work to my car once I get there. Are there any really great places to do that anywhere in Oklahoma or North TX? I figure there are probably are quite a few around Dallas, but who?
Thanks for the responses!!! Any other input would be appreciated as well.
There isn't a third gen club in Ok City. But there r quite a few third gen's around. I go cruisin with some of them on Saturday night, down 39th. Most of the guys that have third gen's in Ok City, do there own work on there cars. But there r a few shops that will do the work pretty reasonable around there. Welcome to Oklahoma. If u ever come to oklahoma city, let me know. I will bring out my third gen.
I agree with 3rdgenparts the F-Body club in OKC is mostly 4th gen. I am on the NTTGA boards a lot because that have a more dedicated 3rd gen club, and there are a lot of helpful people on there. I don't have my Iroc going yet, but when I do I would like to cruise around with some of you guys. My cousin has a 70 Camaro, and others have 1st gens but not too many 3rd gens around here that aren't beaters.
Nice Kitt car! I remember sitting in one at Universal Studios back in the day.
Looks like that pic is taken at Penn Square Mall ehh?
Unionfootball, Do you go out to memorial on Sat. nights?
Thx man ya I just saw a recent pic of that Universal car they had on display in a back lot.....Trust me man it's not a pretty picture And yup that was Penn Square not the best place for a pic,But I had to do something while my girlfriend was shoping inside. lol
