Any Third Gen Mechanics In Austin?

Just bought am '88 IROC-Z L98 a few weeks ago. It cranks over but won't start. I am fairly sure that there is no spark, but beyond that I don't know, at the moment I live in an apartment and don't have any tools (looking to get one of the craftsman Mechanics kits soon). And, most painfully of all I am not mechanically inclined.

But anyways, if someone in or near Austin could spare a Saturday or Sunday to help me go over the car, I really hope to get it started and other problems identified so i can can start a priority list, I'd do what I could to make it worth your while(case of beer? lol). Weekends are best for me, and I am also on vacation August 2nd-9th(no plans).

Let me know on third gen friendly shops too. I also posted this on austinthirdgen.org, no one seems interested. But I am rambling, let me know!

If you were in San Antonio I could help but the way gas prices are Austin is just to far. Start with the basics, does the car turn over when the starter is engaged. Then check if the car is getting spark and fuel. Anybody in San Antonio need help with their 3rd gen, shoot me an email.

My roommate needs help with his TPI swap, the car used to be a 305 L69 car and the motor died. (Yes he killed a 305). We are talking fuel lines, tank, interior, motor, transmission... he has got the whole car apart.

I think he has buttoned up the motor and is just about put it in the car.

If you want to lend a hand, we can set up a meet and you guys can talk cars and drink beer, etc etc.

BTW, do you have any pics of the 86 Z28?

No digital pics of the 86 Z28. The car was sold back in 1996.
