Reason: PRICE DROP!
i will be fabricating 1 3/4 lt headers, with 3 in. collectors, vband flage sealing. i made some last time and still remember how i routed them. took me over a month to set them up right. should be easier this time around.
last time i just worked on them when i had some free time, mostly on the weekends.
Seems like there are a few ls conversions going on right now in the Houston area. that will be cool if we can all make an appearance at the summer meet. Here is the latest progress on my car, Hopefully hawks can have mine finished by then.

good luck..
Nice! what are the specs of the engine? if u dont mind me asking how does hawks go about the rate for a conversion?
SAM is on spring break, my porter convinced me to go with bigger valves on intake side. 2.02, possible 325cfm flow. he's pretty good, got my sbc edelbrock heads flowing 255 with just vj

well I basically just sent them the car and said let it rip....JJ
they sent me a ball park quote and we went from there.
they are doing a total resto..paint, engine, tranny, rear, interior, suspension, everything. I was going to buy something new but decided to have my first car ever remade into a beast. Besides I don't have the time, (I can barely take a dump in peace anymore) or the technical know how to do half of this stuff so I shipped the car to them.
the big ticket items are the paint and body, blower, rims, breaks, moser 9", engine & tranny, the labor cost isn't that bad considering how much I spent in parts.
price is well ...think of buying a nice new car and your in the ball park.
Motor will be a basically stock ls1 long block with a cam, long tubes, bigger TB, 1900 series magnacharger. Although I kind of want to do a stroker motor..
but the money tree is getting low. easy to get wrapped up in the "lets go faster thing"...how much is enough for a weekend street cruiser? looking to get around 480 rwhp.
Sure am I only have about a day's worth of work left to do - but my work periods on the car come every 3-4 weeks it seems. If I can get it to a stopping point I need to call ARD so I can get a tune and exhaust built...haven't seen them on the boards in a while :-/ Are they still the place to go for this stuff?

isn't 3.1 eyecandy doing something too?
that sounds like its gonna be a beast.
u could always throw in a stock lq4 with your cam. i made 635rwhp with bone stock lq4, 60lb. injectors, TNetics P trim T76. and also used patriot duals. this was around 9psi on pump gas. and dual fmic. and meth

what are u gonna do for exhaust? stock manifolds with ypipe?
u may be able to use a ls1 car ory and stock manifolds. but not sure.
Ran across a new challenger, and 2 other chargers coming from a wedding rec. tonite. i was in my ss, it had been raining earlier, but the road was dry. they immediately follwed me, i was in 6th cruising at 60. challenger lined up next to me, pass. signaled a run. i was with gf. she gave me stupid look. i drove on normal, challenger kept revving me, the chargers ran each other. challanger flexed its muscle, i had an itchy trigger finger, but ya know the gf and the looks. she noticed i was antsy, said i look nervous, i know its gonna be bothering u all night. GO.
it was on, i drop from 6th to 5th, gf gripped the doorhandle and did the invisble brakes. challenger heard the downshift. lined up at around 50, honked 3 times, i dropped to 3rd, 7k, shift, 7k shift. no cars in front, car pulled really hard, maybe it was the 50 degrees air. buses behind. shut down at 150.
they finally rolled up, dirty looks.
i just waved bye to those punks
lol. in my opinion those new challengers are wack, they look nice but............ you kno? lol. i think i can take one, ive beaten, and surprised many cars w/ my cobalt ss turbo. this is how i did w/ an ss w/full exhaust, intake, tune, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b3YcmobFmZ4 and i was still just getting the hang of standard.
headers look good.
do u know how to stab dist.? the tpi wiring should have the dist connector for the hei dis. should plug right in.
what size is the carb?

do u know how to stab dist.? the tpi wiring should have the dist connector for the hei dis. should plug right in.

like this?
"1.remove the first spark plug.
2. (With balancer installed) Turn engine over with a wrench clockwise from the front. If you have a friend have him or her put thier finger on the #1 spark plug hole.
3. As you turn it over, watch the timing mark where it says 0. If it passes and the friend didn't feel the air pushing out, then go 1 more revolution until the timing mark on the balancer is at 0.
4. Installditributor such that the ROTOR points AT the #1 cylinder (front drivers side) and the base is correct (may take several tries, as the gear is angled and will rotate as it engages the cam gear).
5. Ensure the distributor seated on the oil pump rod. You may have to turn the engine over with the wrench some more to get it to seat. This should not change the the cam/distributor relation, but you will see the distributor turn. You may want to spin the engine the rest of the way back around two revs to bring the mark back to 0 to verify things.
6. Start the distributor lock bolt and clamp, but don't tighten too tight.
7. Install the distributor cap (only 1 way to install).
8. Install the Spark plugs and wires. 18436572. Clockwise from the top. #1 in the front towards the #1 cylinder on the driver's side. The #2 cylinder is the passenger side of block. #7 is drivers side rear.
9. Disconnect the Bypass wire (tan and black) if TPI. This puts the ignition module of the distributor in control of the timing allowing the "base timing" to be set.
10. Try to start the car. The plugs should be clean still, because you just had them out. A retarded distributor is hard to start. An advanced one will start quite well up to a point.
11. Set base timing (to whatever, 0-12 degrees depending). Advance is CCW, Retard is Clockwise with the base, from the top.
12. Lock the hold down.
13. Reconnect the Bypass wire.
14. Listen for rough running. Could be a loose wire, or incorrect routing.
It is easy to mess up, and have to do the whole procedure over, so don't get discouraged."
Well, i am not jacking the thread, but i am working on a big block swap...so i will be killing in the worst way Just got the 12 bolt rearend, doing the T56 swap and getting some forged components. Dont know how long it will be but good luck with your LSx swap, my buddy and me did a STD bore 6.0, a set of heads i ported from a 03 truck and a torqer 2 cam, trapped 96 MPH at 7.3x in the 1/87th Not bad for a budget build

sup, man about to time u posted in my thread.
im NemeSS on tech.
so your going with a t56? what are the specs fo the big block?
i bet the bbc and t56 is gonna be hella fun.
im gonna have to go with a th350 and 4k stall.
thats a pretty good combo yall put together, what did the scr come out? did u mill the heads? .030 with a felpro gasket is 10:1 on 8cc dish lq4. im going 10.75scr and around 9:1 drc for my build.
ive been hearing about these new mech. cam lobes for use with hydrolic lifters. in ls motors. i really thought about a mech roller and the new sbc type rockers for ls motors, but im only 375ci, so i dont think its worth it. i would like to build a 415ci with l92 and a mech. roller. but ive alredy got most of the engine parts for this one alredy.
thanks and good luck with your build as well

since your car was previous efi, u will have to use a aeromotive fpr that allows u to use intake efi pump but regulates down to low carb pressure. around 7psi. i will go look for the part number, its the one im using. also u will need the throttle cable for use with the carb and return bracket, im using the jegs bracket and a cable i took from a old truck.
thats pretty much a textbok description to stab a dist. u will need a timing light to find the correct timing.
Just going to be .060 over, forged pistons and rods, stock crank, ported stock ovals(mediums). Nothin really special, but i just want to make it go faster than ever. Should be 9.6 to 1.

are u in search for lt1 t56? my friend is selling a 95yr. model t56 with all the acc. crossmember, bellhousing, driveshaft, mastr cylinder, etc. for
800$ includes a lt1 new clutch, i think its a centerforce not sure.
Wish i could just get another and keep going, but that money i have is going into the big block, i will be jacking the T56 from my 95 Z and installing the T5 into it, then sell it.
