Hey guys, a heads up. Im working a hail damage storm here in Pampa, and someone here has a stack of 3rd and 4th Gen Camaro's and FBirds. I'm tryin to find out who it is and I'll post if they are for sale or what. From what I can see, some are very nice n some are parts cars. Pampa is just north of Amarillo.
Ok, this is going to make you sick. Its some lady that owns alot of cars n trucks. I stopped by a small car lot to look at a 95 WS6 and behind it was a white perfect 88 Iroc. The sales guy said all Camaro's n Firebirds are sold! I said really? he said yes to a lady name Cathy Evans. She owns ALOT of 80's and 90's 2 door Tahoe/K-5 Blazers, Bronco's, 80's Chevy & GMC trucks, Camaro's, Firebirds, s-10 blazers, Mercedes S500 convertable 2 doors, Corvettes, Chevelles, and alot of other stuff that is NOT FOR SALE!! I said you have got to be kidding me. He said he is trying to buy alot of the cars back because he didnt know she was going to let them sit and rot. you read right. He said those cars have been sitting there for over 2 years. I drove by the house where most of them are, and 4 huge German Sheppards were voicing thier dissapproval of me being there. I tried to speak to the guy cutting the grass there because almost all the cars and trucks are sitting in the weeds. No responce from him or anyone willing to talk about the cars. Here's a few pics. I couldnt take many because they didnt want me to.
Check out the bullet holes in the last red IROC, wow!
The first red IROC and the white one pictured look very nice however, it is sad that some owners are not the typical type of owners, let alone enthusiasts even, it's sad.
Greetings from CA!

LOL.......i've known about those cars for a long time, something told me to just stay away. Living only 15 miles away from there and driving around in Pampa I see them all the time.
Glad someone else confimed the suspicion I already had that it was best to just stay away from those cars.
If you're still in the area, PM me.
I'm waiting on my adjuster's license to come in the mail, then when another storm hits somewhere, I'll probably deploy to work the damage. I heard it was a twister east of Pampa, so I'm not surprised if there's a lot of hail damage too (hail storms are GRAVY....did some adjusting years ago for Germania.....easy money!!).

Good information here about those cars. I wasn't able to get that much info last time I was in Pampa. That white '96 or '97 SS sitting out there makes me drool every single time we rarely go through there.
its a shame that some people do that in hopes of making a fortune later if they gain in value like 1st gens, all those cars will be wasting away instead of being driven and enjoyed by an enthusiast
Funny I know a place in houston where if the second gens are your style... this guy has 126 of them... firebirds and camaros... he sells them for 500 a piece and you can drive them away but prob not far...

what years of 2nd gens lol im looking for 70-73 lol
Here's some other pictures I've taken in Pampa over the past few years. Some aren't terribly in focus, but it's just amazing to go there and see all of the f-bodies.
And still some more. Keep in mind that these pics of the huge collection of cars are about a year apart... the cars haven't been moved :
If the owner of those f-bodies is sitting on them to turn a profit in the future, she's going to need to buy them car covers, because that white '96 SS may be making me drool like crazy, but I bet 2 years of constant sunlight has ruined the dash and interior, not to mention the seals around the windshield and rear glass.
All of them will eventually need some maintanance. Wonder if they even start any of them from time to time. If not their going to spend a lot of money getting them running.
Can't believe how many two door Tahoes they have. Hard to find one that isn't beat up or donked out.
People who hoard things like that usually have OCD and other personal issues, my guess her house might be filled with junk as well... but it is sad to see those cars sit and rot.
Well, not all F bodies but a guy a few houses down that i have to pass every time i enter or exit the neighborhood has:2 CETA 02 trans ams, blue 01 TA, black 00 TA, 67 SS pace car, 67 RS SS, then there are the others: 02 cyber gray vette, several challengers and chargers 68-72, the mopars all need work but the F cars and vette are in great shape.
MMMmmm, 3rd gens AND early Broncos. I need to make a trip to Pampa with the 40 ft trailer.. I'll just have to figure out my lack of cash & their not wanting to sell part later.

I'm going to laugh if your truck and 40 ft trailer end up in her collection.
i guess you guys have a little more leniency with car ownership in TX.
i know here in NY i could never have that many cars on my property without getting harassed by the town.
Maybe the ones that are * stored * is to keep them original & lower miles, ** AKA ** Thanks Barrett Jackson for the illusion that an original dry-rotted hail damaged car will bring BIG $$!!
Investment my arse!!
Gotta keep 'em indoors & properly stored for that!!!

the value even the first gen in Good shape go for... you would have more had the money been saved and invested in a low risk port. if the value is her plan she is as dumb as the city for letting her do that... give a call to the epa or who ever does that stuff there its a hazard and m sure stuff is leaking
They should be driven or in the care of single owners that will baby them and take care. My 89 RS is not worth jack really, but it is garage kept and i usually only weekend drive her.
that wouldn't be good. I can only think of the possible consequences of those cars.
IMO it looks worse ths way... it is just another person showing the trashy side of these cars. even worse case a JY got them they would at least part them for whats good.
what would happen most likely is they would threaten her a few times to remove the cars (sell them) then take action
This of the bug's and other insects those cars gather. I bet the rats and other animals have killed the wires under the hoods. What a waste. I am also blown away that the city lets them just sit there. I cant even park on the side of my house in back on the side of the driveway without the city having a fit.
I was in town again this last weekend. That white '96 or '97 SS depresses me. I want that car so bad... The cars still haven't been moved, but they strangely appear clean. I don't understand how they remain clean or get cleaned.
I explored the area a bit more this time, but still didn't want to get close.
It's like f-body heaven around there. Why can't I be friends with the owner? :(
In a small Texas town like that, ain't no tellen who that woman is. I mean she could be anybody, **** she could be THE mayor or married to him or related some other kind of way. She could be some other important city/town figure like factory owner, or biggest city employeer or anything. I can promise you that if I were as close(Denton, I think your the closes) as some of you, I could and would find out all related info about that collection. She is'nt trying to hide them, she has some sort of plan. I think most people dont inquirer because if you dont have cash in hand, then your just window shopping/dreaming, and not a serious buyer.
