are you going to polish your rims yourself... take it from someone who is still polishing them. I've finished two... at a rate of 9 days per wheel... do the math... lol just trying to help a brother out...

as many of you guys know i had to bust the motor in my car back down to the block to clean it up and change out my valve springs. With all that done I've started to rebuild it and got all the way up to the fuel rail with new injectors but i had a question that maybe one of you guys should know... How do you set (adjust) roller rockers? Any special tools i need or just bolt them on and crank them down?
hey if it a fresh rebuild. i would do the adjustment just as a book said to. but i wouldnt crank them down as of yet. set them lightly. then turn the engine over or use an adapter to push oil pressure up. the engine will run with them loosly. i think if you adjsut and them crank down before building oil pressure it would hold the valves open.

Well mine were painted factory red.. so I have to strip the red down the start with 60 grit to get the orange peel off. I go up in grit from there... 80.. 150.. 180... 220... 320... 400.. 600... 800... 1000... 1500... 2000... 2500 then wipe them off and use mag wheel polish with a buffing wheel on my drill.. then tape and paint the black... you can skip a lot o that by using that kit when you reach about 400 to 600 grit.. others will tell you around 320... but between 400 and 600 is when I get the best turn out... imo

JR350tpi.. that kit won't take off the casting marks just so you know.. in order to get that off and the lines off the face you'll have to sand them...

Yea i was gonna do it next week since i replaced my tranny today but i still have the same problem so i aint gonna polish my wheels maybe until next year
I've got two left to do and the runners then my polishing days are hopefully over for awhile.... thank god to that... Hey Zone I can't turn the motor to sequence through the lift cycle.. thinking about hooking up a remote start and bumping the motor over to do it.. the main crankshaft bolt is either stripped or cross threaded.. not sure which one but its not lose so i'm not touching it.. don't wanna drill and tap a crank shaft personally...

I'm totally starting to like firebirds... I was never much for them in the past but the look of them now is growing on me... I wouldn't say it looks better than my camaro but its definately looking pretty good... Maybe I'll build one of those next... I just don't like the interior of them though...

Wow... ,that looks pretty close to mine except i'm polishing the runners but it looks great from what i can see.. Have you done any mods to that motor like cam or rockers?

paint that thing and it will be great, unless there is body damage i cannot see...
Hehe... there is a big nasty dent on the passenger door and the driver side door welds have came undone but I plan on getting it re-welded and then painting it a jade green and getting the ouroboros ghosted on the hood hence the name of the car and a logo i came up with for the whole project, btw dose anyone know where i can find some paint chip samples so i can look and find the right shade.

hey kevin89formula, what rims are those??? i love the fat lip on those deep dishes. iv been lookin everywhere tryin to find rim that deep without poking out the sides. and whatever company makes those, do they have any 5 star flat spoke ones? (w/o the little designs on the spokes)

they are made by BOZE, style name is force. the rear end has been narrowed 1 1/2" inches on each side. that helped get as much lip as possible.
Boze will make the rims per measurements you give them.

talk to Bruce at hawks, he is a dealer for them. probably could help you out with the back spacing and such.

hey you know what they say.....once you go formula, you never go back.
Dude Kev AWESOME wheel setup. I haven't posted here in a long time since my car has been sitting in the garage for about 6 years 'title issue'. I got the title taken care of yesterday and it is back on the road. A little background...
1982 Trans Am - 383 - 4 speed - 3:73. I have 1" drop springs in front BUT with the wheel/tire change it appears i need to go 2" drop. The car has settled down a bit since the spring install 'when pics were done 6 years ago', but still not enough. Edelbrock carb is a total piece of **** so am working on going Holley 850 DP. Suspension is BAD *** to say the least.<Censored>, I MEAN tight as a Corvette. KYB shocks, IROC sway bars + an infamous Wonder Bar. Rear is 4th gen 'disc breaks', 3:73, Moser Axles and C-Clip eliminators. Custom made Coleman aluminum driveshaft. Many more goodies, heh. Am looking forward to a meet up in Houston...
when i got the car it looked like this
Now it looks like this
Indeed. It came with 14" and these are factory 4th gen 16" on there now. To get the 4th gen wheels to fit i am using the 4th gen rear end and spacers up front 'to be changed over to 1LE spindles and no spacers'. I still need to figure out the right tire size to use and probably go with 2" drop springs. The complete suspension is brand new.
