Not my side of town, so I dunno what would be in the I35 corridor for easy access for DFW/Houston people.
That Duke's does have a decent parking lot, then there is an empty Albertson's building practically next door, making for an empty parking lot to gather. I think too far to park & walk, but I can look again. No idea how good the food is, but it's been there for a few years at least, so it can't be all that bad, huh?
McKinney falls state park is a nice campground that's only 12 miles Southeast of Austin. I actually lived there for two months when I first moved to Austin, until I had enough money saved to get an apartment.
I think the party place you once visited was Shady springs party barn. I've been there 5 times for the company picnic. Very nice but probably expensive. http://www.shadyspringspartybarn.com/
Unless anybody has any strong objections, let's make Duke's the place. It's right next to San Gabriel Park, so if the parking lot isn't good for some pics, we can go over to the park for group shots and hang some more
I'm going to leave it to the ATGO guys to plan more activities for before and after, so ya'll discuss amongst yourselfes and get back to us
OK.....There is a thread about this on both the Austin Third Gen.org site & the San Antonio.org site......Any other cities have their own sites? Like a DFWthirdgen.org or Houstonthirdgen.org?

If San Gabriel Park has a volleyball pit, we could have a regional type tourney. I also have washers for a small washer tourney. I know this idea will get thrown out quick but if Gearheads of Buda still hosts their gathering at Cabela's, we could have a mass Thirgen convoy south on the IH35 corridor and invade the gathering. We got a real cool reaction the last time we met there.
Cabela's would be a long trip for the DFW guys, in the wrong direction. Do they still meet at the Round Rock parking lot & 620/I35? I haven't been there in a LONG time.

Nope...they closed that one down about a year ago because the ricers were getting crazy.
I'll start a thread on southtexasfbodies.com. I doubt to many guys will head out there since it is quite a drive, but its worth a shot. Anyone know if Laredo has a good amount of third gens?

Right before the season ended last year, there was a gathering getting started at the Tinseltown Pville. In late spring we can update this thread with the findings of the Pville gathering. Also, if there are ppl planning on staying overnight, that could make for a good breakfast meet June 20th. Just an idea. I know one guy mentioned that it wasn't worth the drive if it was only lunch.
sounds like a cool idea. i'd be game to go, but i dont think i'd want to drive my 3rd gen 3hrs in june without A/C. i'd have to take my 4th gen.
i've never been to Duke's but it looks good. I have been to the Salt Lick in SW Austin, and it was amazing. looks like they also have a 2nd location in Round Rock. whatever the final decision is, i just vote for it to be a mom/pop shop like these and not a chain.
ah come on, I'm going to be taking mine, and I doubt if I'll have AC either...
if you leave early enough and come back late enough, it won't be too bad
I thought about the salt lick in round rock, but the place looked a little too high end. They do a lot of wedding receptions, so a saturday in june wouldn't be a good idea

high end?!?!?!
i dunno about the round rock location, but the Driftwood location was wood picnic benches and family oriented. BYOB too. it was featured on Food Channel's "Diner, Drive-ins, and Dives". far from fancy schmancy.
i thought i might never get to go to that place again, so i bought a bottle of their BBQ sauce... only to find out that they sell it at Tom Thumb in dallas, lol
Well, as much as I hate to say this, take me off the list. I live in Pflugerville and would only have to drive 10 miles, but the annual Laporte family camp out cannot be moved to another date. Sorry, but my Formula will still try to make it (with a different driver).
naw, thats not representative of the main facility. thats gotta be offsite somewhere. maybe someone from austin thats been to the round rock location can chime in

Nope....No can do. Your already on "the list".
You've already committed to this, just tell your family that you are sorry & you won't be able to attend their function!
hey everyone, late entry but i will be there i will let everyone here in sa know about it. dont know if they will drive but count me and my 92 formula and 88 camaro in.

The SA guys have come up to Austin a couple of time for just b'fast & to hang a bit, so I'm sure they come,
That & I checked on the SA3GO site & there was already a thread about it. I was gonna post up about it, but somebody beat me to it!
We just had the north Texas gathering, and people seem excited about the state event. I've asked everybody to help think of things outside the box to add to the day's events
we had 15 cars at the DFW event, and we would love to see 50 in Georgetown
It was just brough to my attention that June 19th is NTTGA's Annual club cookout, This date has been set for a while, Unless the state gathering date changes im pretty sure most of NTTGA will be going to our annual cookout. Might want to see about setting this to an earlier or later date.
I'll try to be there the plan is to be visiting family in austin around that time and I'll post the link to this onto the FBEP forums get the word out over here in El Paso

OK, the NTTGA cookout is set in stone, and that's a MAJOR conflict.
anybody have an issue with pushing it back to the 26th? we could move it up to the 12th, but that's the same day as the NTTGA's regular monthly meeting (i'm assuming they are still having one that month)
Well, if NTTGA is going to attend the date should be moved, if they aren't going to be up for a meet 1 weeks after their cookout then it could stay the same. But might as well move it and at least give them the chance to come...

Sounds reasonable to me. Someone should ask NTTGA (I know we have some members here) how many are interested in going.

i can't speak for everyone else, but i look for an excuse to drive the car every weekend, ... i'm game for back to back meets, especially if its at a badass bbq joint.
and as far as the nttga monthly meet being the week before their bbq, there is a good chance (but not guaranteed) they will move the monthly meet to the BBQ... but i'm not involved in the politics over there anymore. i just show up to stuff.
i sure hope i can make it, but i never know with my crazy work schedule. i'm kinda lonely out here... the only other third gens in this town are either beaters that aren't going to get fixed or drag cars that can't travel. i'll admit, my car is not pretty right now, but it runs good.
p.s. how are things in Austin? haven't been on that board in some time...
ok, the NTTGA is going to have their regular meeting on the 12th, and a cookout on the 19th. I guess that only leaves the 26th available for the gathering... if anybody has any objections.. speak now or forever.. well you know the rest
Hello,
I can't wait to go, i actually drove to the the Atalanta, GA meet a few years back. It was alot of fun, long drive though. BUT I didn't drive my car, which sucked.....
I had a idea, Is anyone selling any parts from the area where the meet is going to be? Or might need some parts from the different groups/peeple that are involved? Possible Swap Meet??????? I am always looking for something.....
