This sounds like a great time! I doubt my Z will be in good enough condition to drive down but I will make it with or without her - as long as the Army doesn't relocate me before then...
Someone mentioned the idea of a little "swap meet" several posts ago - I'm sure we all have a few spare parts in the garage... Might help us pay for the gas or at least lunch!
Glad to see the plans are coming together. I would have prefered Salt Lick BBQ, but I'm open to any other place. I guess I'll have to pick up some Salt Lick on the way up the day before
Trying to come up with some ideas/activities for the gathering - what do you all think?
It was mentioned in a few posts about doing a little swap meet at the same time - we all have extra parts lying around... Might help pay for lunch!
If we could get a real commitment from a large enough group some type of competition in show would could be fun, something like Best Custom Paint, Best Mods, Most Original/Stock, etc. that eveyone could vote into...
Cruise! Find a nice stretch of road that we can cruise down and enjoy the afternoon...
I like the idea of a informal competition, when we get a firmer count of who all is bringing their cars, we can can fill out ballots with everybody's car on it, and different categories next to each name/car.
Sounds like fun, as long as people don't get their feeling hurt...
as for the swap meet, that sounds good, but it would mean some people would have to bring TWO vehicles, one being a truck. Unless we just all want to being small stuff.

I'd like to think that we're all big enough adults not to let that happen!
I see the problem with parts... Maybe do lists & ship it all or something - IDK...
Now I've got to stop spending so much time on here and get some work done on my Z so she'll be ready!
I'll bring stuff (link is in my sig) if people ask for it. Like everyone else....I'm not gonna haul a bunch of stuff out there just to HOPE somebody wants it.
I'm in seeing as how cool it was at the last meet. I do know one thing. I want a ride in afas92's Z28. That thing was such a monster I hurt my cheeks smiling Count me in!

That makes the most sense - as time gets closer I'll put up a list of what I have available and go from there...
I like that idea... maybe we can start a special swap meet thread a month before the gathering and everybody can list what they have, and those attending can request that certain things get brought

Just wondering, has it always been there, and why is the South central the only regional forum that shows (on my screen at least) a regional specific classified?
We have had it for more than a year. When I complained that most of the posts in SouthCentral were "for sale" or "wanted" and you can not leave feedback based on posts in SouthCentral it was created for us.
There is a sticky at the top of southcentral about it.
There is also a link to it above that.

First (Official) Antique 3rd-Gen. 29 years and counting!
I'd be up for that... I'd love to get a photo of all the 3rd gens in front of the capitol, but it would be a nice little hike from georgetown to there, and I can't think of a place that we could actually photograph the cars near there
darnit yall need to quit this. yall are making wanna go now know matter what. how far is that road from roundrock?
how many people are going from the houston area. how early are yall willing to meet up somewhere to get going.
hey maybe we can get a list going on the first post. put numbers with who all is going. not sure if you want to go thru the trouble but maybe also post where they are coming from.
man i want to go. it s going to be a lot of driving. us houston guys are going to have to get together on here. who will be bringing what tools. how many stops will have to made for fuel. it is a lot of driving as said. but the ability to possibly see 30 or more third gens going down the road all together is friggin priceless.

Its not that far....Don't be a wimp!
Straight east on 620, to the 2222 area. Not far at all!
It runs from 620 to 1431, but the fun part is from the halfway point between 620 & 1431. Lohman's Crossing to 1431
I got a 84 Z28 parts car years ago, because one kid got a "little too happy" on one bend! Just 1,700 miles on the brand new crate engine he put in. Now it is in my brother-in-laws 50s F*ord truck.
1431 just outside of Cedar Park & out towards Lago Vista can be just as much fun, but that might be a little far for the DFW & Houston people. But I'm game for more if they are!
not no wimp here. just an awful lot of driving on a 17 year old car. well half of it. wanna get closer to it to see if a bunch are going. we need to bring parts and tools. but i am leaning towards it big time. trust me man. drove a 12 second ext cab truck about 800 miles in one day. no problem. it was an 02 to. i will be going over mine many times to make sure it can do it all. ut i do have to be home the same day.
i figuered you and esc would be in. but want to know if it is us 3 or are there more. if it is just 3 we will get there quick. but remember im stock so yall cant leave me too far behind.

Okay, should we start a headcount in the first post??? Something like Group Name, then underneath the attendees. We could update it monthly up until June, then update weekly.
other people from other parts that have said they are coming... I'm pretty sure we'll ahve a good representation from north texas, based on the excitement about it at our own gathering a couple of weeks ago
