Re: Official 2010 Houston area Summer meet - Post here!
Baytown is probably the farthest (60 miles?, Far East, 1/4 mile). Seally a LITTLE closer but not much(40 miles? Far West, 1/4 mile). The 1/8th mile track at HMP is probably the closest (30 miles? NE) but I have never been there.
(All distances are guesses based on Bear Creek Park as a starting point.)

YEa, i would definitely be down for the 1/8th mile, would be a blast, not to mention i have 26 inch tall ET streets that are perfectly suited for the eigth mile and 4.30 gears.
30 minute drive? No biggy. I will be driving that far, actually longer to get to bear creak.

Where you are coming from HMP would be WAY closer. It is just inside the beltway on the North East corner.
A Saturday night trip to HMP wouldn't hurt my feelings any.
Looks like Saturday June 19th will be "TXDRL DRAG WARS" whatever that is.
Friday nights are "Import and test&Tune". Friday might not be as crowded...

I thinking about the same weekend at the Houston Meet.
Like the Friday before, that way we can have some new time slips to brag about.
If you want to go somewhere before that, how about Seally?

Try to stay
on this thread as I use it to get a rough headcount..
Just a reminder:
Place: Bear Creek Park (in Katy, TX) - Pavilion #1 (Thanks Larry!)
Date: Sunday - June, 20th 2010
Time: 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM
As we start to get closer to the summer, I'll post a BB-Q sign-up thread and a RSVP headcount thread.

Re: Official 2010 Houston area Summer meet - Post here!
Dropped off check and we are all set for the meet. Off topic but while I was at Bear Creek I voted in the primarys(early voting). There are some very good admendment proposals on the Rep. platform, I think most would agree. Remember,if you don't vote you can't make a difference no matter what your politics or party. Larry

Re: Official 2010 Houston area Summer meet - Post here!
I would not recommend going to the track before the meet in case of breaking something there or getting stuck in traffic on the way out.
The goal is to have as many thirdgen's at the meet as possible!
Afterwards if you guys want to head upto a track, then by all means!
The meet at the park starts at 2:00 pm.

cool zone. i need to see if my deal might go thru in time. if not oh well. a carbed 350 with an lt1 cam is in the works. my tired 305 is really tired. but my 99 vortec 4 bolt is in peices right now. i am hoping that i can at least get the 062 heads done to comnpliment my 350 and lt1 cam. should be good for now. the 350 is out of a 1993 truck. we will see.

I'm planning on going. Took some stuff apart last week but shouldn't be a problem putting it back together. Sandblasted and painted/cured 'VHT' headers, brake booster, master cylinder. Touched up the firewall, fenders and frame rails. Did lots of rewiring with spark plug and accessories wires running under the headers. The fuel lines are run through the frame and exit right by the fuel pump. I polished the a/c plumbing with a Foredom flex shaft dremel tool. Next will be an electric fan setup.
Some bad pics.
