Of course we might think about a different site that we wouldn't have to pay to get in to or deal with a lot of people. The gates don't open until 3:00PM on Sundays and I'm not sure if they are open on Saturday's without an event.
If we do it on Sunday we could use the parking lot in front of where I work. It's pretty cleared out on Sunday's and right in front of Walmart. Hell for that matter any parking lot on USM is going to be clear Saturday and Sunday.

Always willing entertain questions from future thirdgenners. What about the old K-Mart Parking lot??? The place is shut down so That is a big parking lot that would be wide open. not to mention it is right on 98 so it would be easy to find. Right behind Olive Garden, Copeland's, and LongHorn Steakhouse. Can't miss it. |

As much as Id love to met on the coast the fair thing to do was pick a more central location for those willing to show up, whoch nis Hattiesburg was chosen and there is a drag strip there.
We also have a website for the MS area. Check it oout join up, and post whatever you like. Its: http://southms3rdgen.wetpaint.com/
Do you know anyone else on the coast w/ a 3rd gen F-body? If so talk to them and see what they think about this clud were trying to start.

what will the location be ? dont think all are happy with dragstrip
| Maybe we should meet somwhere like the K Mart parking lot that 87 earthquake said was closed down. That sounds like a decent Idea to me,but I dont know if anyone would get upset about it since I dont live in hubcity. Then for those that would like to can go to the track and play around some. Even if things fall through withthis I`m off so I`ll meet up with somebody somewhere to try to get this thing started. |

Car: 1992 Jade Green---Trans Am Convertible Engine: LS1 Transmission: T56 | Re: any mississippi peeps Never-minding the fact I can't go if it's not in Hattiesburg, with people from the coast, Jackson, Vicksburg, etc, Hattiesburg is the best location.
If people wanted to drag-race then the track would be good. Friday night is test-&-tune and isn't too busy. Sunday is street grudge racing and can be busy. Saturday's are limited to big events I believe. I don't think a lot of people would want to race, pay to go to a meeting (at least $10), nor would a loud track with a lot of people be the best place for a first meet. I doubt people would want to come at night or at 3:00 (when the track opens on Sunday).
The Kmart parking lot is a really good idea. We wouldn't get ran off and we're only looking at 10-15 cars anyway. Hell the street racers hang out in the Hobby Lobby parking lot every weekend and don't get run off. It's right of I-59 and easy to get to from any direction.
I do suggest we make a new thread stating there is a meet-n-great coming up with the date and location and keep the discussion going there. I'm sure there's some that viewed this thread when it started and wouldn't know if they didn't check back in.

I dont have a problem w/ it not being at the strip. The K-mart lot sounds like a good idea since it wont be noisy and free.
I guess we could start a new thread so we can get commitment for this met there. Ill go and start a new one and memtion the website I made for us. |
