There are a lot of f-body guys, and a few thirdgen guys in the area. I spent about 5 years in M'Boro going to MTSU and living there afterwards. Left last year though. A lot of the guys from the area w/ these cars hang out over at www.tnfbody.org
I'm in Franklin now, and most of the guys are spread all over the mid tn area.
All Stock, 305 TPI, Tan interior. Acquired this driver in March '08 and have been driving it daily and consistently averaging 20+ MPG! Right now just getting it up to specs....New tires - Cooper Z-rated, just purchased struts and strut mounts, some nice new floor mats, have a ABS replacement headliner to install, just fixed vacuum leak and cruise control, in process of recovering the sail panels, looking for some Beechwood front seats leather or cloth (will need rear if cloth). I love driving it around the 'Boro where I work; lot's of lookers.

I have been trying to get the silver paint off the rims...what a pain! It is looking better though. The tops have only leaked once during all the recent downpours and that was when it was parked on a hill with the nose pointed up the hill....weird. I am happy with that.
Yes he is a great man. One of the best.
Well. I know the car came from Florida about 2 years ago. Hunter had it shipped up here. It had an aluminum driveshaft but I bought that and we put my Formula's old driveshaft in it. Hunter had to replace the intake gaskets when it got here because of an internal leak. It drove great after that and the steering wheel controls even worked. I almost bought it then but had just gotten divorced and didn't have the cash. He sold it to a local kid and he ended up blowing the 350 it came with. Then the car sat for somewhere close to a year I think until I bought it last fall. I was going to replace the motor but couldn't find a good replacement. I had already pulled the motor and everything. The bearings at the back cylinders were liquified and it had a collapsed lifter and I didn't want to rebuild because this was going to be my daily and I haven't built a motor yet. I owned it about 3 months then traded it to Hunter for my IROC.
He put a 305 in it from a 91 RS and had some exhaust work done. His kid drove it for a bit trouble free as far as I know and then got a truck. Then he sold it to you! ☼4
It really looks sharp. I wish I could have fixed it up. I have had almost every
main variation of F-body. This was my second Trans Am. Oddly enough both of them didn't run while I had them so they are kinda like a bad omen for me.
Anyone thinking of setting their cars up for the Murfreesboro Hot Rod Assoc car show's at Roses? I want to, it would take some work on my car but I can get it there.
Thanks for the the history, I knew some of it but good to get it clarified.
I just got back in the house after installing new exhaust manifold gaskets on the drivers side, was leaking bad. Took a little run, MUCH BETTER! I love driving that thing! I haven't had this much fun since my 69 Z/28 twenty + years ago.
I hope to get the front struts, strut mounts and headlight motors (I have the little round plastic pieces) fixed this weekend.
Do you know anyone that may have some tan seats around, even 4th gen?
When does the car show start back? I take my dad's maroon 78 2-door bubble window Caprice down sometimes (350 4bbl, 350TH, F-41 suspension pkg, 3.08 posi, 'vette rallys, pancake centers with spinners and RWL Radial TAs).....nice car.
My car is black. It too is from Florida. fixing to go do more work on it right now. Sorry I don't have a source on the tan seats. I would try pull a part in Nashville. You should bring your ride up to the show. I am going to try a few times this year.

Hey 'menace! You go to the Cruise-in? I drove by and I guess the rain kept most folks away, just a few there around 5:30-6:00ish. I was hoping for a good opener!
Look'n good. I won't make it this time either. Car isn't ready at all. Wife is pregnant so keeping her happy takes up some time. I am gonna try again next week.
I went by for a while, there were quite a few there tonight. I think car guys are getting internet savvy and checking the radar to see whats coming...or not coming.
Definitely understand about the pregnant wife....Happy wife, Happy life!

That thing is looking great. It was pretty dirty when it was at my place.
What products you using to get it to shine? Please don't tell me just water and soap. I may cry a little.
I have to replace the crankshaft on my car so I want to at least get it up to the show at least once before I do.
Laid down the law with the wife about going (asked permission) so it should be cool.
I use Meguiars Deep Crystal Polish and hand rub with those round terry cloth (over foam) applicators. I keep some water handy and rinse residue out of the pad often. Once done, I put that new Ice (Turtle Wax) liquid wax on it; it does not leave any white residue and covers scuffs REALLY well. If the paint was slicker, I would use Liquid Glass instead (unbelievable shine).
For the wheels, I used aircraft remover to get the clearcoat and all that silver paint off; then used Blue Magic aluminum polish to get a really nice shine. The driver's side front wheel, I had to do the 220 sanding, then wet sanded with 400, then Blue Magic. I may get one of those Mother's red ball for my drill so I can really work them.
Make sure you tape your valve stems if you decide to strip the rims, that aircraft remover can eat them if you don't protect them! Don't ask how I know......
