Otherwise, make sure it's a TPI car chip for an 88', and DL a BIN file from this site. Don't waste your money on a hypertech, JET, etc. They don't do much, basically they just throw a bunch of fuel and timing in @ WOT.

Have you set the minimum air yet? Not sure if you're having any issues with idle, but that may help.
I'll be tearing into mine at the end of this month. I am slowly buying a few odds and ends for the other long block. (valve springs, gaskets, t-chain, HV oil pump)

Hey guys, I was just over at the Deland Pull N' Save on Garfield Ave. They've got a couple cars there that may have some useful/hard to find stuff. '87 Trans Am with a complete non-a/c setup and foglights (the good ones seemed to be still with the extra bumper cover in the hatch) and there's an 82-ish Camaro with what seems to be a complete crossfire inj. setup, salvageable looking Lear Siegler Conteur seats that would just need a reupholstering (says "CAMARO" all over them), plus the fiberglass hood with the ram air slots. Most of the body panels looked good too, just thought i'd toss it out there incase anyone needed something.
Oh, incase anyone spots a good pair of those UQ7 performance sound speaker boxes, the ones that go in the sail panels and hold a 4x6" and a 5", please let me know, i'd like a pair of those. Getting tired of how these 6x9"s blare in my ears.
