Re: Volusia County Florida!

i am going to want to get my seats redone one of these days, heck just getting them redyed black would make them look better. i need to pull out heater core before it leaks anymore and ruins new carpet. so i might as well do the fan switch i have and rad. flush. i like doing everything i can. oh and will i was looking at summit for alternators and they have the 140amp in the same casing as our current ones. if you are still going to do the big 3 then upgrade that too. i need to just so that my voltmeter doesnt drop with lights radio wipers and defrost and applying brake all at the same time. besides i will be doing a sound system again one of these days.

Re: Volusia County Florida!

1 thing at a time, i hope u aren't pulling heater core sat. morning. takes awhile. my carpet is in good shape so i'm thinking(look out) of removing it for some time. i have pulled carpets in worse cars and cleaned them, u'd be surprised. can't say is ok for older carpet than mine, but can turn out good. what carpet did u get mike? came rolled up in box? u replace jute? what kinda glue u used? how's it fitting.....hehe..fitting. i must have done a hundred carpet "kits".....hehe..lmao, rofl. fitting. 1 out of 20 have good mold to it. unless u can find orig carpet it's sad to say all kits plan suck, worse than all repro parts. rubber floors actually turn out better. sad. might look into fitting of 4th gen org. factory carpet, even though 400-600 bucks.

Do you guys know of a good cheap place to get my ECM checked. This high idle is really starting to get on my nerves now.

If it was carb related my stepdad would know. Hes not big on fuel injection. I think it might be more than a sensor though. I dont know, I rather just get it ran.

Re: Volusia County Florida!

i looked at advance and all the replacements say 100 or 105. so unless you put a bigger one on... i know mine is 105 and it sucks.

i am looking right now to see what is the differnece between one wire capable alts and not one wire capable. i think the way ours are set up we would need to get not one wire capable. oh and joe if you need to get something for you car like an alt. i talk with a guy at advance in ormond on us 1 and he said he will price match. just take in the part number. i thought that was nice.

so you have no power problems then like with your sound system being in there your headlights dont dim when you got the blowers on and hit the brake. you voltage stays up around 13 to 14 then?

Yea that low is dangerous. I also have a capacitor on my system. Not sure if it is helping its only a 1 farad but Ive never tried it being off. It should help somehow though. Plus the battery should be of some help.

the rain is bad connection. your car has been handed around mike i wouldnt doubt the wiring has been shifted, you might have ground in bad spot. i read both those articles, the 1 with pics twice. sofa brings up good points that contradicts some info stated early in the post.

Re: Volusia County Florida!

again it leads to one opinion to another... but you can never have enough ground and with as much power that runs through the engine big wires are all ways better. ill use audio for example, the more wattage the amp puts out the bigger power wire you have to have not to damage the amp. same instance with everything else electrical. i have run additional ground myself in the car to take care of some problems though. need to do the big 3 and then alt. for one reason... i have digi dash aftermarket head unit. aftermarket speakers in stock locations. power windows locks and hatch. just too much for the dinky alt to handle in my opinion. and i have read around the audio threads that a power cap. in system is a bandaid that can do more harm than good. they are mostly for *****s that dont have enough engine for all that. i have seen that with bigger alt and big 3 you have no need for power cap. so we shall see. have you found anything out about your ac Will?

Re: Volusia County Florida!

Painting the edges of the fogs (where the glass meets the body) flat black would make them look millions of times better without finding new ones. At least you can hold out for a perfect set that way.

after looking at ur avatar 3rdgenwillie i think i have driven past your house before in edge water. is it on royal palm?? and right in front of ur house the road is covered in burn out marks?? my boss lives down that street. i was driving down it and locked my brakes up when i saw the camaro, i thought about doing a burn out to add to all the others but didnt want to upset anyone.

Re: Volusia County Florida!

Hey all! Not sure if I am going to have any free time till like late May, but who knows.

For the bets on my car.....drum roll...... 458 hp/ 429 lb/ft. Rear wheel numbers. I was hoping for more, but I guess I can't be greedy. My old 88 GTA made 202/302, so I am putting down 50% more torque and more than twice as much hp. 1/4 mile numbers later this year, maybe.

Re: Volusia County Florida!

I may be the hp winner, but it was for sure at a large sticker price.

I see some posts about problems. If anyone has any questions, wants me to take a look at their car, or needs help finding the right person to do some work, pm or email me. Anything I can do to help!

Re: Volusia County Florida!

i just lucky i guess. since i did big 3 power hasnt dropped below the 13 mark on the digital guages. so i really cant wait itll tomorrow when i get the alt. ordered it from summit. very beautiful piece of work. and kwik i may have something to ask in the future so i may take you up on the offer if i can think of anything. check this beauty out fellas...

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

and willie this is for you bud!

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

these look just like what you have the pic of. not bad pricing either. and looking at your pic are you getting rid of A.I.R. setup like i did?? cause other wise you need diff. shorties with the setup on it.

Time and date in april???

No its not. Im always fooling with it anyways. Good idea though. The other day I did have it stuck up there and couldnt press the pedal down. I was freaking out then and realized how far up it was.

Re: Volusia County Florida!

yeah that pic i got from hedman, not summit. samething. joe you should talk w/ kwik more he's ase cert. i've already gone over just about everything except popping ur hood and checking it 4 u. tps, dist, coil, etc. talk with kwik, you could learn something, other than heavy equipment operations. ya'll think 100 + ship is too much for used hedman? also that powermaster looks like a beasthedman 68470, yeah y pipe is BS but get 1 made for less like 100 bucks. seem troublesom to install. might become years project.
