I am preparing to move to the Atlanta area from California. I figure this is a good thing for me, my family, and my Third Gen. Where else can I expect to find some REAL experts right around the corner about a car like mine?
I know about a bunch of you in Columbia, CS... my mom lives near the SC/GA line so I will be easy access to Columbia. My sister and brother-in-law live near the Summit distribution center in McDonough, and I will be an anomoly in Sandy Springs but I promise to represent the Southeast region with pride.
I grew up in Augusta, GA, schooled in North and South Carolina, and have family in FLA. I'm coming home. Sometime in August looks like the plan...
Welcome back home then! I live in Lexington, SC and go to school in Columbia. I know you'll be in Atlanta but you may want to check out South Carolina F-Body Association and join the forums. We're a group based in Columbia with members all over the state and even in parts of Georgia. We're also an official chapter of the World Wide Camaro Club. Hopefully Purple92 will chime in and tell you what all that entails... Again, welcome back to the South.

Welcome to the ATL. Please let me know if there is anything I can do to assit you in making your move to ATL easier. I would be happy to meet you somewhere for dinner or lunch, show you around, etc.

excellent! i'm still hammering out the details of my move up "north", lol! hoping to get up to snellville, loganville area by the end of the summer. also, make sure you check out www.gafba.com/forums and become a member over there. my name is the same over there as well. i'm also hoping to get the camaro back in daily driver condition so we can cruise in style (not that the bird isn't cool...but ya know, lol!)
Reading thru this thread there is no shortage of "Southern Hospitality" It's nice to see so many welcome someone to our corner of the world. No doubt you will enjoy being back in the south.....lots of sunny days and warm nights for doing car stuff. There are several clubs to join, tons of shows, cruise in's, events, etc.
For us Southern Boys cars are as much of our culture as Grits, Pecan pie and Peanut Butter
One more opportunity for car stuff can be found at the Atlanta Camaro and Firebird Assoc. http://www.atlantacfa.com
Cadillac! I'm so glad you're coming to the Southeast! Any chance you are going to make it to JW's club's BanOne show in McDonough in early Sept.? I'm coming down from North Carolina for that one. I want to see that vert close-up.

I'm not sure I heard the details of that one but if it's near ATL, I'll make it happen.
And just to set expectations, my car is a daily driver. I have seat covers, cheap paint, a TBI, and blingin' wheels. That's about it. If the GA payroll and my daily commute aren't too bad, I'll be spending some money on both the paint and interior in the coming years.
