My name is Chris, a fellow Thrid Gen Owner here in the Tampa Bay area. In another post a few people tried to get a third gen meet started. Well a couple of us have agreed to make it happen. It doesnt HAVE to be just Third Gens, 1 thru 4 is totaly cool.
So far we have agreed to try and make it for the evening of the 28th of April, which is a Tuesday. The idea is to simply meet up somewhere...meet and greet to get to know everyone, talk cars and check out everyones ride.
As far as the place, well that depends on how many people would like to show up. If its a lot then we need to pick out a decent size parking lot or something. I myself am going to try and scope out some areas here in Tampa that are centrally located to make it fair for everyone. BUT if you would like to join and know of a good spot then let us know.
So if you would like to show up just post a reply and a pic of your ride. If you dont have a pic, no biggie, just would be cool to see what kind of rides are going to be there.
Look forward to seeing some F Bodies get together here in the Bay area!!
My 92 RS.

Well I'll try to get my car running by then.... just waiting on UPS at this point
I'll be there
and for location, I'm coming up from Fort Myers
btw Jim, should I bring my laptop and burner? Didn't know if you wanted to try and tune it a little bit
-jason
Actually now that you mention it, heh...when I was leaving back home I thought to myself...I should have asked if he could have my fans turn on at around 200degrees. Know how to do that? That way I can do away with this switch I have. Other than that I don't really need a tune, just need to fix my timing. Also I think I left my factory prom at your place??
Im over in oldsmar, It would be nice to meet and greet everyone, but my formula isnt even on all 4 tires yet, maybe I can partake in a later meet.

So....lets talk times and locations for this meet on Tuesday....
Anyone got any ideas? Im free anytime after 315 on tuesdays thats when my last class gets out, Id push for something after 7pm so traffic can die down if were anywhere near the downtown area, and that gives guys who work time to get off and such.
At or around 7pm is fine with me. As for location...I don't think we're going to pull more than 5-6 cars so the parking lot doesn't have to be very big. I do think that somewhere right off the highway would be ideal and easy to find though. Especially since Jay may be coming up from North Ft. Myers.
Yeah 7 or after would be a good time..wont be super hott out either. As far as doing something down town, that would be awesome...its just that all the parking lots are pay lots, and after hours the cops would harass us for "loitering"..lol. In the previous post you guys were talking about Hooters or Wing House or something. And if we have people comming from out of town like Jay, then it would be easier to pick a place that he can mapquest if he has to...like Hooters rather than a random parking lot..lol
So there is a Hooters on SR 60 right before you get into Brandon...that would be a central location with the I-75, I-275 and the Cross Town Expressway all close by. If some of us want to eat we can run in and grab something to go and eat by the cars. Or we can all go inside for a beer...times are tough, so im sure people dont want to blow a ton of money. BUT either way..its central, there is a parking lot, AND food if some of us get hungry.
I don't know if I can make it next week but I'm getting there. Maybe we could find a larger club that does a show and kind of tag on there. They would already have a car friendly place and normally some good food too. Plus we can check out each others rides and all the other rides too. Just my $.02
Here is my car, just got back from picking it up in TX.

We could, I know of a larger club. Good group of guys. Don't want to join them but I do tag along on rare occasion. I'll see if they have anything coming up soon. I know plant city has a car show every 3rd saturday of the month. They do it downtown as it's a city event. Don't think we'd be able to park in the event though. The only third gen i've ever seen there was the Turbo Trans Am.
Jay -Exit 257(60/adamo), then your going to go west(take a left under 75), it'll be on your left not very far off the highway.

Well theres a few of us that go to a car show in palm harbor every friday. Adam :-)
Just mapquest or google it and you will see that it is located between I-75, U.S 301 and the Crosstown Expressway, easy for everyone to get to no matter what direction you are comming from.
I wont be able to make any other car shows or mini meets since i work 6 nights a week. UNLESS they are taking place during the day time.
But either way, the location up above is the one ill be at next tuesday at 7 p.m
Once those of us show up there to meet and greet, we can talk about other car shows, dates and times and such.
And to Snowman..lol..EITHER ride you bring will be good, both very nice rides!!
So if there is no more confusion or questions and everyone is cool with it, we will meet on:
DATE:
Tuesday, April the 28th 2009 TIME:
7p.m LOCATION: Hooters 10023 Adamo Dr E Tampa FL, 33619
Charlie, will you be there as well? Was wondering if you were going to show Jerm. Would like to see what progress has been made to the banana.
We shall see. I still got a lot of work to do on the IROC before G13. Finish engine bay. Install all the accessories. Exhaust work, Wiring. Get it running. Brakes. Rims and tires. Radio. Tuning. Braking everything in. And anything else that comes up. And that's just to get it up there. It won't have a show quality interior and the body work want even be started. I honestly don't know if it will be ready.
Jim....me miss something that involves Hooters....LOL!
Maybe you should hit up Chris'(longmire) place of work. Plenty of hooters at the green iguana. But for now Hooters restaurant will have to do.

Yeah, you do have a lot to do. If you need a hand let me know. I don't think i'll be able to make it to the gathering this year. Still haven't found work so I won't be able to afford it. My car is still in the same shape as it was 3 years ago, if not worse.
Wow..a bike crash huh?...so that made your drive home HOW long?..lol..sorry dude..that sucks!!
But yeah, thanks to everyone who showed up, especially Jason who drove two and a half hours to get here. We have much potential to get a solid group started. So we should meet up again soon for sure.
Id be down for meeting up at the Track on a Thursday Night towards the end of the next month.
Btw Jason, be sure to post those pics, im sure we would all like to see how they turned out, im glad you brought it to take a couple shots!
Thanks, I was actually getting ready to take a leak on my front bumper...for some reason, i've had 2 dogs do that before. One was actually at one of the f-body meets at a members house in San Antonio.
Sorry I missed it. I was out gathering parts for the IROC. I have been SO hectic these last few weeks, trying to get this car done before G13. And I still don't know if it will make it. Adam :-)
