Issue: Emissions
Bill: HB 1309/SB 1994
Status: Active
Description: The Florida Environmental Protection Agency and Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicle would be required to develop a joint proposal on how to enforce Florida’s decision to adopt California emissions standards.
Intro Date: 3/03/2009
Someone from FL on another thread asked me for more info on this and I cant find the original thread, so I'm just posting it here.
I really hope that this doesnt happen. And if it does im keepin my car registerd in NH, no testing just a visual inspection that im exempt from cause i "go to school in florida" and wont be abck up for my inspection. I find it dumb to go from no inspections what so ever to the strictest standards on earth.
I barely passed mine here in CA, but honestly, it's not that bad. I am sure there will be plenty of those under the table shops.
Agreed in NH i know exactly where to take my car, headers without AIR are illegal there, as is not having an ebrake and having blackout tails. BUT, at first people will be strict, i hope it doesnt pass, florida is pretty rural. Maybe they will do something like wisconsin, where only major cities are tested. Alot of cars down here, where there is NO inspection at all are running long tubes with no cats and bullet mufflers. And even my setup which still has a cat, i doubt will pass.
That would be super gay.. I was just in Florida last weekend visiting some people & noticed the lack of front license plates, and any stickers on the windshield. That alone was enough reason for me to want to move there. The traffic was also SOoooo much nicer than around here.. People don't feel the need to clog up the left lane near as much. Now if I could just find a good welding or machining job over there..
