Any of the long time posters here know why there's no Raleigh, NC F-Body club? Fayetteville has several Camaro clubs. Greensboro, Charlotte, even little Greenville has a club (not to sound bad, I lived in ECU country and loved it).
Just baffles me. I drive all over the triangle all day, and I see F-Bodies everywhere - sure isn't for lack of cars. Maybe lack of interest?
POST UP TRIANGLE RESIDENTS!!!!
Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Morrisville, Apex, Cary, Wendell, Knightdale, Garner, Fuquay, Holly Springs, etc.
Every weekend there's at minimum 5 cruise-ins or car shows within 45 minutes drive of Raleigh - we need to REPRESENT! We can't let these old geezers with the 60's and 70's rides, that have never turned a wrench but bought their classics already restored, beat us to the punch. It's time for the next generation enthusiast to crash the party!
[quote=Abubaca;4304990]There IS a Raleigh F Body club. You just haven't found it yet.[quote]
Found as in I haven't been looking hard enough, or found as in I need to be the founder and start one?
Abubaca - now I know why you moved to Greensboro!
Had nothing to do with the job!
By the way - if you remember - the shifter plate you helped me with still looks great! I finally got painted this past summer, HOK Candy Teal on silver flake. I've polished my rims, almost finished a full interior restore. Swapped accessory brackets to the ones you have (1987 1/2 serp 1/2 vbelt) and got rid of the big ugly serp brackets, swapped alt to pass side, removed A/C, installed 1LE heater box, and yanked all the TBI wires out to clean up the bay. Still a work in progress, but it's coming along. I'll have to cruise over to Greensboro one of these days and catch up with the club there.
...I knew I recognized the name, but after so many sites, all the names run together. Yeah man, I totally remember you now! ...got any pics of the car???
I'm surprised you don't feel that Carolina F body would be considered raleigh. 90% percent of those guys are out there.
While it may not be an fbody specific club, most of the car guys I know in the Raleigh area post up on horsepowerjunkies.com.
I founded the Greenville fbody club back in 2002. Sadly, it will be no more within a few days. Being in a college town, once everyone graduated, we all left Greenville. Those who are left haven't found many new people to fill in the roster.

I'll keep an eye on Carolina F-Body & try to hook up with some Raleigh folks.
And I'll try to get you some pics soon. Every day that I get off work, it's raining and she stays under the cover.

Sorry to hear that, but I understand. I lived in Greenville back in the day, and you're right - everyone (including myself) moves off sooner or later. I'll look into horsepowerjunkies.com as well - THX!
